The song starts slow and powerful, so you can really enjoy those harmonies, before becoming more upbeat for the first verse. There is a chorus of a ccappella singing with optional body percussion (claps and stamps, but feel free to be more inventive!) This easy-intermediate level repeats the same harmonies in both verses, and has a Unison bridge to make learning a bit easier. If you're after something a little more complex, this is also available in SAA Intermediate (additional harmonies in verse 2 and bridge) and SSAB. This also works well transposed a tone up if needed. Published by Robert Delfausse (A0.766983). Bugs Bower composed several volumes of Bop Duets. Like so many other jazz musicians, my roommate and I spent countless hours playing through the volume we had, him on tenor sax and me on trumpet. Playing them is a masterclass in jazz phrasing, and studying them is a masterclass in the classic principles of counterpoint. It's a little bit like a Bach fugue. You start with a short catchy theme, and then let it go where it wants to go, but always building on that theme. I titled this piece Sundry Quartet because I liked bassoon for the bottom voice (trpt, hrn, trbn, and bsn), but a second trombone could just as well play the bottom. Level: advanced intermediate. Duration: 3 minutes, 12 seconds. .

Published by Will Corbin (A0.1462329). This song may or may not have originated with a Texas polka band in the early '60s. It's also described as traditional. Its original name was La Cachuata, which means peanut in the ancient Mexican Nahuatl language. But it's a fun polka, with a little bit of a mariachi feel, that has been endlessly recorded, mostly by bands that include at least one accordion. Hey, Myron Floren of the Lawrence Welk band included it on multiple solo accordion LPs. Must be special. This arrangement is for two trumpets, horn, baritone TC and tuba. From the Composer:I committed last year (2022) to review my musical works that have been in digital storage, complete them as necessary, and release them for the world to hear. I finally finished my first work on this list, one that's been on my hard drive in one version or another since 1999 (that's 24 whole years!).Las Follias de España (which despite its name, originally came from Portugal) is a chord progression usually in either D minor or G minor in the form of i-V-i-VII-III-VII-i-V. Composers for the last 500 years have used this chord progression to come up with some fantastic theme and variations, ranging from unaccompanied works, trio sonatas, to even full orchestral implementations. You can spend a looooong time listening to all the beautiful compositions that composers have made over the centuries highlighting this very captivating set of chords.I humbly submit my own version of La Folia in D minor for String Trio and Cembalo (harpsichord). I wrote my first version of this in my senior year of High School as a challenge to myself to write music in a genre I loved. I made updates here and there over the years, but its sat on a hard drive the entire time. It's taken me months to essentially rework it to my satisfaction and has been submitted for copyright. I have uploaded it to YouTube to share with others.BIG SHOUT OUTS to the three composers that inspired me in this work:Corelli: - His version of La Folia is probably the most popular for violinists, especially those that play out of the Suzuki books. I included a modified version of his Folia (Variation 9) in my work (with all other parts being vastly different from his interpretation) as an homage to his work.J.S. Bach - He showed me that music can be as intelligent as it is beautiful. I have two variations inspired by his work. Variation 8 is one that I wrote this year (2023) which I wanted to write for a long time is a variation that showcases the Harpsichord. Bach's keyboard works and unaccompanied violin works inspired me here. Second, Variation 14 I feel has Bach's inspiration all over it. The violin parts are each playing separate distinct melodies in double counterpoint which trade parts on the repeat. The bass line follows a pattern that Bach has employed for the bass on a number of Violin concertos and lastly, the Harpsichord treble part is a mensuration canon based on one of the violin parts, with the keyboard part playing the melody 4x as fast with variations. Lastly on a play of numbers, number 14 was a very special number for Bach, and as a tribute, I've made this the 14th variation in my work. This was also a new variation I added this year (2023) as well.Vivaldi - My first musical love. I feel that I captured a little bit of his musical DNA in all my works and this piece showcases this. Vivaldi's works is what made me fall in love with Baroque music and I am indebted to him for the profound impact his works have had on my life.So here you go. 413 measures. Handbells play the melody while the Boomwhackers® keep a steady beat with three-note chords. For each song, there is a combined score with both parts on a grand staff plus a separate 1-staff score for each individual part. A note and chord reference chart is also provided for each song.The songs in this digital book are ordered by difficulty with the easiest songs presented first. The songs progressively incorporate more challenging rhythms, some requiring rapid chord changes. Many of the songs include two verses. The first verse is “easy†with fewer notes. The second verse is “intermediate†and expands the melody by adding more notes (sometimes including harmony notes). If you want to learn (practice) only the “easy†verse, an optional ending is provided or it can be skipped to perform the two verses together. This set of scores uses black and white noteheads and is best suited for musicians already familiar with reading standard music notation. For beginning musicians, this same set of scores is available (sold separately) with color coded noteheads. Only filled noteheads (quarter and eighth notes) are used so the notes are easier to see (this does not indicate the bells need to be silenced immediately before the next beat). Also, only quarter and eighth rests are used to help visualize the number of beats per measure. Lyrics and chord names are provided as well to aid in the learning and teaching of this song. But having just one guitar means that the inner voice sometimes runs out of steam, and the bass voice jumps around from one octave to another. It always left me feeling there was a bit more music to be had amongst the notes.My arrangement, for 4 intermediate players (some of the parts are a little easier) is in a different key entirely. Spreading the workload allows a little more action to go on under the tune.Guitar 4 is 6=D, and it’s also supplied in bass clef (for a normally tuned contra guitar or similar). Either or both lines can be played.Although this can be played in swing (shuffle) rhythm, a straight rhythm allows a more relaxed and romantic feel to the piece, but feel free to try either...I hope you enjoy playing this piece!This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. A visual stereogram represents a 3-D image while looking though a pair of 2-D images. There are special viewers that are used to give this effect where two images viewed through the special device can give a 3-D or stereographic effect. Brubeck's Stereograms for Bass Clef Instruments are musical versions of the graphic form. Brubeck uses familiar folk melodies to create his Stereograms and adds jazzy twists to many of them. The musical version may contain two or three individual parts within a single melodic line, thus the musical 3-D Stereogram is created. Bach’s unaccompanied works have underlying multiple parts in them and Brubeck has been inspired by the Master to create a similar texture in these works. They are suitable encore pieces or performance pieces, alone or grouped into ad hoc suites. Brubeck’s music requires rhythmic accuracy and multiple tonal colors, and are especially useful as sight reading tools to keep the performer sharp and on his/her toes. He has also added octave suggestions to allow them to be playable by the widest array of bass clef instruments Each Stereogram is dedicated to a special musical hero in Brubeck’s life. Excellent as study etudes or sight-reading pieces, Stereograms can be performed/practiced by Trombonists, Bass Trombonists, Tubists and Euphoniumists. It is 38 measures long, Piano1 being more difficult due to the constant triplets. You can modify the piece by substituting a guitar for the Piano1 right hand, and a flute for the Piano1 left hand, using Piano2 as melody and accompaniment. Bits and pieces of the melody constantly come in and out, with episodes of dissonance, in part and in full, throughout the piece, making it sound a little Bach like.
