Strawberries and Ice Cream is a piece written specifically for young, beginner string players, based on the Orff principles of singing and playing.

The rhythmic patterns in Strawberries and Ice Cream aid in right-hand development and include an opportunity to teach retake bows.

Each verse contains a sung section and a played section.

Each instrumental part (Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass) has an open string part and a part with simple fingers.
