The first new collection from John L. Bell featuring the Cathedral Singers and the Iona Community since 2001. Beautifully recorded by the Cathedral Singers under the direction of Bill Chin, this new collection features a perfect mix of new world music and choral favorites. The Splendour of the House of God is a collection of texts that “speak of God to God’s people or for God’s people to God.†These songs for worship have existed in the Iona repertoire for some time and have proven their worth. Today, the Iona Community shares these brilliant texts with the world. All of the texts in this collection speak, in one way or another, to what is involved in public worship—from physical buildings to living our faith in the world. The Splendour of the House of God was premiered at the 2011 NPM National Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. Contents: The Splendour of the House of God, O Christ, the Master Carpenter, All People Living on the Earth, I Was Glad, I Love the Lord, In Complete Desperation, Conceiver of Both Heaven and Earth, This Is My Will, We Cannot Measure How You Heal, Lux Aeterna, In Christ We Live, Wisdom's Table, O Taste and See, The Lord of the Earth, O Come, Let Us Sing. .

This collection by John L. Bell and the Wild Goose Resource Group is filled with songs of praise and possibility! The recording features singers and instrumentalists rehearsed and conducted by Iain McLarty. McLarty gathered a very talented and eclectic group and worked co-operatively with them on some of the arrangements to produce interesting and engaging sounds.  This Is God’s World is dedicated to Graham Maule (1958-2019). An integral part of the WGRG, Graham oversaw the production of this recording and also sang a solo verse in one of the songs before his passing last December. He is dearly missed by all who knew him and worked with him.  CONTENTS: This Is the Day • All People Living on the Earth • What Is This Place? • In Christ We Live • Long Have You Loved Me • There Is a Balm • Now We Are Nourished • Lord Jesus, I’m Eager to Answer Your Call • The Lord of the Earth • This Is God’s World • God Give Them Peace • We Are Coming, Lord, to the Table • Within the Circle of Your Friends • God and Parent of All People • God Loved the World So Much • Go, Heal the Sick • Murassala • Canticle of the Turning • I Lie Down with God .

In Little Seeds you will find new hymns from my heart. My devotional life is given to you in my hymnwriting. During the past three years I have been writing songs for the unity of the church - songs reminding us of our baptism. I have been writing biblical story hymns for lesser-known characters. I have written paperless songs that may be easily memorized. I set a Rumi poem. There are new hymns for Christian missions from everywhere to everywhere. You will find new texts and musical settings for folk songs from around the world. I hope I have treated these with the love and respect they deserve. You will find alternate arrangements of some songs that may be useful in different settings. Lim Swee Hong composed three tunes for this collection at my request. I am also pleased to include Lianne Tan's first published hymn tune in Little Seeds.

America has often been referred to as the great melting pot of nationalities and cultures. That is true to a certain extent. Americans have not relinquished the unique character of their individual heritage - they have, however, acknowledged those things that unite all of us as a people, a nation dedicated to liberty and justice for all. The one thing we share that is most obvious is this particular area of the planet Earth, located in the western hemisphere, on the North American Continent. This is a landmass that is bordered east and west by the Atlantic and Pacific oceans and north and south by Canada and Mexico. In addition, we have two states that are thousands of miles removed from these borders but very much a part of these states - the United States of America. This is a celebration of our country - our dwelling place - our Homeland. Our Homeland - this is the place where we pledge the same flag, protect and defend the same Constitution, breathe the same air, cherish the future of our children, and stand constant vigil to defend the rights that compelled our founders to form a more perfect Union. This is the place our ancestors fought for, and also the place where people still gather the courage to come and be a part of the greatest experiment in freedom in human history.America - a land uniquely blessed of God - a staggering mosaic of natural beauty and resources. America - sweet land of Liberty. America - residence for those who dared to dream the dream, pay the price, share the costs. . . of living in the HOMELAND!
