The 4th part may be played on bass trombone or tuba, and the upper three trombone parts can easily be exchanged for baritones (b.c.) to the extent that these could be played solely by a baritone-tuba quartet.

Ralph Sauer has beautifully arranged Bach's famous melody Arioso taken from Cantata No. 156 & Clavier Concerto No. 5. Each part of the melody is repeated, the first time with the simple Cantata phrasing and the second time from the ornamented Clavier Concerto. The end result is a beautiful melding of a piece of music from heaven for four part Trombone Ensemble. This work can be performed by moderately advanced musicians.
