Quatre Pièces pour trois Flûtes avec une 4è Flûte ad lib.-Flutes En Vacances by Jacques Castérède was written in 1962 for three or four Flutes. Each Flute part is quite difficult on this quartet and would be for advanced-intermediate / advanced flautists. This piece features four sections each one expressing a different mood: Flûtes Pastorales is quite calm with some enthusiastic highlights Flûtes Joyeuses reflects a very joyful part with a small dance in the middle Flûtes rêveuses sounds timeless and reminiscent of a theme of Castérède’s 'Twelve Studies' and Flûtes Légères has a fast and lightmelody. Jacques Castérède (1926-2014) is a renowned composer and pianist. He has won the Grand Prix de Rome in 1953 and has composed numerous melodic pieces including ballets concertos symphonies ensemble and chamber music.

pour quatre Flûtes en Ut-Three Pieces For Four Flutes by Eugène Bozza (1905-1991) was written for a Flute Quartet in 1979. This melodic work is really popular among flautists. Eugène Bozza won different prizes at the Conservatoire de Paris such as the First Prizes for the Violin conducting and composition as well as the Grand Prix de Rome. He composed several operas chamber works and ballets among others.

Easy To Intermediate Arrangements. The present booklet contains a sheet music collection of pieces from the chorale literature of the Renaissance and the Romantic period and is intended for group instruction. Concerted vocal music is particularly well suited for the flute ensemble, since when playing the flute the melodic quality is - similar to singing - essentially based upon breathing. This enables the flutist to maintain a natural flow during his performance. Since there is very little original literature for the flute ensemble, a pedagogue is often required to draw on arrangements in which the lowest voices are frequently comprised of non-flute accompanying motifs. In chorale music, all voices are equally employed in a voice-leading manner. The phrasing slurs depend upon the text. The breathing signs in some cases only serve to clarify the musical line in general and are not to be used for strong breathing. The arrangements are created for flute ensembles with four voices. In each case the lowest voice can also be performed with an alto flute as an alternative. An according part is attached to the edition. Bresnick's award-winning Conspiracies is an exploration of the flute's broad capacity for music-making, using spatial concepts and contemporary techniques. Written for solo flute and "four other flutes," it can be presented by five live performers or by a solo flute and pre-recorded tracks. Conspiracies has been recorded by Robert Dick (1982) and more recently by Patti Monson (2000), a one-time student of Dick's.

The Kleine Nachtmusik composed in 1787 is certainly one of Mozart's most popular and best known works and is therefore a rewarding pieces for arrangements of all kinds. This edition has been scored for Flute Quartet.
