Jeremy Dale Roberts ' Spoken To A Bronze Head (2009) for Mezzo Soprano and Piano. This is a setting for text by Ursula Vaughan Williams . ' In all the long years that I knew her and it was a matter of regret between us I never set a word of Ursula’s poetry. It was only after her death, when I was asked to contribute a setting of one of her poems to a celebratory concert held at the Royal College of Music that I ‘jumped’: I knew immediately which one I wanted to do lines ‘Spoken to a Bronze Head’. This was the portrait bust of RVW made by David McFall: not the Jacob Epstein which neither of them liked very much. It stood always in her sitting room, a benign presence, a‘virtual’ companion in her long widowhood. My setting is in an ‘arioso’ style, quite simple and austere maybe to match the rather ‘Augustan’ style of the verse. It is of course a memorial, also a salute: and I wanted to enshrine in it the two of them, Ralph and Ursula. So at the heart of it is a clangourous, bronze-like chord, lifted from the last movement of VW’s 6th Symphony, from which I quote a passage just before the conclusion . - Jeremy Dale Roberts.

This masterful work by Jay Bocook was composed for fellow South Carolinian and highly regarded educator Scott Rush, known for his accomplishments with the nationally acclaimed Wando High School band program. Employing a minimalistic approach, this dynamic piece uses layers of constantly evolving textures and rhythmic devices, while propelled throughout by an energetic underlying pulse. Sprinkled with surprises and dramatic effects, and culminating with the full force of the entire ensemble, Head Rush is a dramatic and unique addition to the repertoire for mature ensembles. Dur: 5:00.

The Carl Martin Headroom is the most simple to operate reverb pedal on the market...with a couple extras. This purely analogue 'real spring' reverb has two identical identical channels, each with tone and level controls to select the depth and tone of your reverb. This allows you to have a soft, small room reverb on Channel A and a much more dramatic and dark large-room reverb on Channel B (or vise versa) The two foot-controlled switches control which channel you are in, and whether you wish to bypass the effect completely. It is like having two separate reverbs in your amp! Additional features on the Carl Martin Headroom include solid metal casing, cool vintage chicken head knobs, double mounted springs to minimize stage feedback, and remote jacks for Bypass and Channel Select (which allows you to place the effect in your rack or in the back of your amp to save real-estate on your pedal-board), as well as your input and output jacks. Of course you also get that famous Carl Martin quality that you have come to expect....at no extra charge. The Carl Martin Headroom runs on 9V DC, and as always, we recommend using a regulated power supply for optimum performance.
