Franco Cesarini was commissioned to write Siebnen by Blaise Héritier, conductor of the band of the town by the same name located in the Swiss canton of Schwyz. The premiere of the piece was held at the winter concert of the “Blasorchester†Siebnen (BSO) in 2021. Siebnen – available in card size format – is a march with a traditional structure, with joyful and festive melodies, suitable for opening a concert or for a festive occasion.

Venceslav Wratny (or Karel Venceslav Wrattn i) worked as a musical director in Graz from 1785 to 1789; later as musician in Ljubljana from 1794 to 1804, and from 1804 as Kapellmeister in Graz. His works, mostly pantomimes and operas, were performed after 1791 under the direction of Joseph Bellomo. The band consists of 54 members and is basedat the Johan Willem Friso Barracks in Assen. An important part of the bandÂ’s activities takes place within the armed forces as a kind of 'house band'. In addition, the band has representative duties on behalf of the Netherlands armed forces and regularly performs concerts and participates in tattoos at home and abroad. The agenda also includes performances at ceremonies such as changes-of-command, swearing-in ceremonies, the opening of parliament, national remembrance days, veteransÂ’ day or guards of honour during state visits and CD recordings.
