Bruce Tippette's setting of the Johnson poem is gentle and graceful, capturing the music-themed text. The piano accompaniment is supportive yet has an orchestral quality that moves with the dynamic vocal contrasts and melodic phrases. “No nights are dark, no days are long, while in my heart there dwells a song I softly sing.â€.

The title of this piece,?Le Printemps,?is French for the springtime. This piece brings images of springtime to the listener's mind. ?The rhythmic pattern that begins in the bass and works its way up to the violins illustrates the patter of raindrops or of flowers bursting into bloom. The beautiful melodies in the piece engage players and audiences. The title Le Printemps is French for the springtime. This piece is meant to bring images of springtime to the listeners mind. The rhythmic pattern that begins in the bass and works its way up through the sections to the violins could be the patter of raindrops, or indicative of flowers pushing their way up through the ground and bursting into bloom. All the instruments that have the staccato notes are the backup; the instruments who have the slurred notes are playing the melody in these sections and should bring the melody out a little bit. The middle section is a little softer (mp) and more legato, and could bring to mind a lovely, warm breeze that is gently moving across the new, green grass and the budding leaves of the trees. It should be played with tenderness and feeling, paying careful attention to the crescendo in mm. 2528, building up to the mf. In m. 34, make the most of the poco rall. as you prepare to reiterate the staccato portion that begins again in m. 35. Again, the moving parts here with the slurs have the melody and should not be overwhelmed by the staccato instruments. At m. 55 should begin to build slightly into the crescendo at m. 57 and really build that up through beat 3 of m. 58. At m. 59, be suddenly very soft to begin the final ascent into the climactic ending. Build steadily through the last four measures and give a good solid bowing of your last note. Enjoy Le Printemps!.The title Le PrintempsA is French for athe springtime.a This piece is meant to bring images of springtime to the listeneras mind. Secret Mission is a cinematic depiction of a spy on a mission to defeat a nefarious villain. This was inspired by my love for several spies and superheroes from movies and television series, both serious and humorous. With exciting parts for all players, I hope your imagination is sparked by this accessible and melodic piece. In the opening, the spy receives his mission in grand fashion, as the title sequence rolls across the screen. After a dramatic pause (m. 10), the spy is on the chase! The melody at m. 11 depicts the spy doing reconnaissance on his enemy. The villain reveals his evil plan, and soon, the hero and the villain face off in an epic battle! Who do you think wins? Is it a serious thriller or a hilarious cartoon? Decide for your own as you see the end credits scroll! Itas an epic journey sure to spark your imagination. For smaller ensembles, the power chords in the low brass can be divided such that trombones take the top note, and euphonium the bottom, or divide it as is appropriate for your ensemble. At m. 9, and as it recurs, the students should choose a note that is comfortably in their playing range that they can play beautifully. They should, however, strive to choose a different note than their neighbor, and can change the note as this technique recurs. The melody at measure 11 should sound soft, light, and sneaky! Do not let the students get too loud at m. 17. If anything, this section should be slightly softer. The woodblock and cowbell add a touch of urgency (like the ticking of a clock) and humor (I got a fevah!). Make sure the countermelody at m. 25 can be heard clearly. At m. 33, dynamic contrast is very important. If needed, a crash cymbal from a drum set can be used, and both cymbals can be struck by a drumstick. In either case, suspended cymbal should be played with a drumstick (unless rolling: then, use a pair of yarn mallets). I sincerely hope you and your students enjoy the cinematic journey, and thank you for choosing my music!.Secret Mission is a cinematic depiction of a spy on a mission to defeat a nefarious villain. Soft and Easy is the perfect title for this laid back Swing-ballad. This is a wonderful way to introduce young musicians to this iconic Basie style. Once your band can play an accent on the and of one and fat (not rushed!!) quarter notes on beats three and four they will be well on their way to sounding great playing music in this style.

In this sixth book of the series, the authors builld upon the lower junior stage, and use a similar modular format. Designed to extend skill acquisition in performance, improvising and composing, listening and appraising, and notating music, pupils are challenged by incresingly demanding musical materials. At the same time there is an emphasis on pupils acquiring knowledge and expertise of the deep structures of a range of music, and a greater acknowledgement of musical purpose and context. Attuned to the National Curriculum experiences, particular features of this book are: a consolidation and deepening of vocal and instrumental techniques and performance * an integrated approach to improvising and composing, combing skills in listening and appraising, knowledge and understanding * a module focusing on aural observation, representation, recording and notation of sound * an active, analytical and frequently physical approach to listening and appraising * a focus on music in its social and historical context in relation to dance.
