The Bestiary or The Procession of Orpheus was written by Poulenc in 1919. Mr. Sauer's adaptation of six short movements of about 5 minutes in length, originally for voice are poems from 1911 by Guillaume Apollinaire about animals: Camel, Goat, Grasshopper, Dolphin, Crayfish and Carp. This music is very suitable for young performers at the intermediate level and is a great way to introduce them to a major 20th century composer. Not for sale in Europe.
