Four ForcesReviewsScherzohttps://scherzo.es/badajoz-vanguardias-lugarenas/Periodico Extremadurahttps://www.elperiodicoextremadura.com/noticias/badajoz/fuerzas_1214372.html NotesThis work was commissioned by Extremadura Orchestra for Percussion and Chamber orchestra. It has two movements. The first one has been done for mallets and the second one was built on a base of a drums work (GEA).The duration of those movements is 26 minutes, being around 11 minutes the first and 15 minutes the second one.The chamber music is formed by:Woodwind quintet (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Horn & Bassoon)Brasswind quintet (Trumpet 1, Trumpet 2, Horn, Trombone & Tuba)Strings orchestraThree firsts violinsThree seconds violinsThree violasTwo cellosFor the second movement is high recommendable to enlarge the strings, a good number of musician could be doubling.I. Strong ForcesThe work is inspired by the four fundamental forces of nature. These forces explain any phenomena which can be produced in the universe.Throughout all composition, it is latent the mathematic construction based in the series Fibonacci. In the first of the movements, Fibonacci's series is present in the notes' sequence that forms the series of 16 sounds and it is going to be present throughout the whole work. This series is taking form along the movement and it is getting melody and harmony.Although it is far away from the sonata form, as we know it in its period of highest glory, it takes elements of it and updates to our days. In this movement, we can find sonata form elements as the exposition, development, transitions or coda. The central part of the first movement becomes in the slow movement, being more intimate and lyrical, free of the serials ties although it uses resources before cited -now called common practice-.The movement finish with a short re-exposition that concludes with the virtuosic of the soloist doubling the series and adding more tension until conforming the series in its full whole.II. Weak ForcesIt is the most tribal of both movements. Its structure is more complex and in it, we also can find clear reminiscences to the sonata form.We can divide the movement into two big blocks. The first one is formed for the introduction and sections one and two.IntroducciónIt is based in one ostinato of three notes where the accent is changing provoking unsymmetric, this ostinato represents the nucleus of our existence. The piccolo and the trombone introduce us to the human element representing the two elements that form the development of the whole movement. The two elements of thematics are taken from the series, the first one is easily recognizable because it appears in his primary form.First section & cadenzaIn this movement, the rhythm, the melody, and the harmony are based on the sequence of Fibonacci. As the theme ostinato of the soloist as the melody is formed under the rhythm of 1, 2, 3 and 5. This section leads us to the second section with a clear mode of cadence. In the cadenza, the elements of the rhythm are varied freely with an accompaniment of the Spring Drum.DevelopmentIt is formed by two Rondo sub-sections in which the solo part has been created through the mirror technique. Both sections have the next form:Intro-A-B-A-B-(B(minor)+A)Intro-A-B-A-B-(B(major)+A)First section & CodaThe movement ends with the repetition of the first section and the final code.

His imaginative works make him one of the most important figures of the Baroque period. Other well-known works of Handel's include 'The Messiah', 'Water Music', and 'Music for the Royal Fireworks'. He was a master at combining various instruments and emotional elements to create enthralling music.Musical CharacteristicsThe 'Atalanta, HWV 35: Ouverture' is characterized as a light and airy composition, made up of a combination of a trumpet solo and chamber orchestra. The movement transitions from a gentle, unhurried 'Largo' into an energetic and lively 'Allegro'. The bright, steady tempo of the 'Allegro' creates a lively and captivating atmosphere. The trumpet solo and chamber orchestra complement each other wonderfully, resulting in an energetic and joyous musical journey. The Composition ItselfThe 'Atalanta, HWV 35: Ouverture' is presented here by trumpeter Alison Balson and conductor Trevor Pinnock and The English Concert. The piece begins with a wonderfully flavorful 'Largo' section, featuring Balson's ethereal, small touches of the trumpet as the orchestra gently sets the musical groundwork. This is soon followed by an equally uplifting 'Allegro'. Balson's trumpet solo is full of passion and energy, creating a bold and energetic atmosphere. As the chamber orchestra grows more intense, the piece builds to a thrilling conclusion. Programmatic InterpretationThe 'Atalanta, HWV 35: Ouverture' is based on the ancient Greek myth of Atalanta. In the myth, Atalanta is a swift and brave Princess who is challenged by a band of young suitors to a race. To the winners, she offers a prize of marriage. As we listen to Handel's composition, we can imagine the race beginning with the slow and steady 'Largo', as Atalanta calmly assesses the present, and takes her time to decide her path. As the 'Allegro' begins, we can feel her strength and power as she embarks on her journey, full of excitement and determination. As the piece builds, we can feel her courage and enthusiasm as she confronts the race ahead. Finally, we can picture Atalanta achieving success as the piece ends in jubilation.About the album 'Magic Trumpet'Sound the Trumpet is an album of glorious baroque music associated with royalty where Alison brings the music of the Purcell and Händel to life. collaboration between the English trumpetist, Alison Balson, the conductor and harpsichordist, Trevor Pinnock and the English Concert baroque soloists.ARRANGEMENT DETAILS Arrangement Format Chamber OrchestraDifficulty Advanced IntermediateGENRE DETAILSGenres Baroque, Classical, Contest / Festival, Instructional, WeddingFULL SCORE AND ORCHESTRAL PARTS AVALIABLE FOR PURCHASE AT:https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/handel-atalanta-hwv-35-ouverture-largo-allegro-as-played-by-alisson-balson-and-trevor-pinnock-digital-sheet-music/22581106?aff_id=728965

She was 91 and had been poorly with many different illnesses for the previous 6 months, so we knew it was coming. But the timing and unfathomable sadness of her death, together with the start of a worldwide pandemic, little did I know it at the time, was to bring forth from me a tsunami of music the likes of which I hadn’t written for many years. A set of six solo studies for various members of the clarinet family came first, written between March 20th and April 20th. As I wrote them they were orchestrating themselves in my head and forming something else as well. That “something else†grew and grew, as the Six Studies intertwined themselves around each other and expanded together, joining forces with two brand new themes to form what soon was to become an immense orchestral work. The title was easy. Glastry is a tiny district in the middle of the Co.Down countryside of Northern Ireland, where my Mum was born and brought up. And Pearl was her name. Her full name was actually Margaret Mary Ward (eventually to become Denny when she married my Dad, Colum Denny, from Belfast), but everyone always called her Pearl. The nickname was bestowed upon her just after she was born on February 28th 1929 and stuck ever since. The Glastry Pearl is a tribute to my Mum and the great and mighty person she was to me and all who knew her. It employs at least one theme or motif from each of the Six Studies For Various Solo Clarinets and uses them throughout the work in the from of Leitmotifs. It was only when the work was nearing completion that I began to wonder how to describe it. Freddy Naftel, a good composer friend of mine, suggested that Tone Poem was a fitting description and I immediately agreed. The music itself is completely tonal and highly Romantic, yet also peppered with exciting contemporary disonance. I believe it to be a good, and hopefully fun, challenge to symphony orchestras, both professional and high standard amateur alike. It offers everything from the the somber opening to the hilarious and wildly energetic central Waltz, to the glorious soaring final section, so plenty of variety to please many palates.

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - SKU: A0.813732 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. 20th Century,Contemporary,Sacred,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #6474755. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813732). O God, Beyond All Praising (Thaxted) (Bb) (Brass Quintet) - Intermediate - . This marvelous arrangement of O God, Beyond All Praising, a hymn tune based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav Holst's The Planets, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for church services, especially Weddings and Funerals, but would be appropriate any time during the church year. However, if you are looking to perform this selection for concerts or recitals, I would suggest you look for the arrangement of Jupiter (Andante Maestoso from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets), also by Regis Bookshar. These arrangements are suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing these selections as well. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (9 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. We have performed the Trumpet Quintet version of this composition quite often for numerous weddings and other special occasions. The Planets, written between 1914 and 1917 by the English composer Gustav Holst, premiered at the Queen's Hall in London, on September 29, 1918 for an invited audience of about 250 people. In the fourth movement, Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity, Holst portrays Jupiter's supposedly characteristic abundance of life and vitality. Nobility and generosity are allegedly characteristics of those born under Jupiter, and in the slower, middle section marked Andante Maestoso, perhaps the most well-known theme from The Planets (and the theme on which this arrangement is based), Holst provides a broad tune embodying these traits. In 1921, Holst adapted the theme to fit the patriotic poem I Vow to Thee, My Country by Cecil Spring Rice, and was written as a unison song with orchestra. It did not appear as the hymn tune until 1926, when Holst harmonized this melody, named Thaxted, named after the English village where he had lived for many years. Holst's friend Ralph Vaughan Williams included it in Songs of Praise. It has since been performed at numerous occasions, most notably for the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales in 1981, and also at the funerals of Princess Diana in 1997, Margaret Thatcher in 2013 and Senator John McCain where it was performed at the Washington National Cathedral on September 1, 2018. In addition to being used as the melody for the solemn, patriotic hymn I Vow to Thee, My Country, other settings of this hymn tune also include O God, Beyond All Praising, by Michael Perry in 1982, O Spirit All Embracing by Delores Dufner in 1995 and We Praise You and Acknowledge You, O God, a paraphrase of the Te Deum Laudemus by Stephen P. Starke in 1999.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to the Trumpet Quintet version and this version for a Brass Quintet, consisting of 2 Trumpets, 1 French Horn, 1 Trombone (which has the lead) and 1 Tuba, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection. There are Quintets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are added as often as possible. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of O God, Beyond All Praising based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the B.

Get this timeless masterpiece and experience a stunning work of genius.Advanced Intermediate Format: Concert, 9 x 12 inches44 pagesFull Score and Orchestral Parts Instrumentation: Basso continuo, Trumpet, Chamber Orchestra (0.2.0.1  0.1.0.0  harpsich. str.) + Trumpet and Continuo reductionDuration: 4 min.Program NotesAbout the ComposerThe 'Atalanta, HWV 35: Ouverture' was composed by the renowned Baroque composer, Georg Friedrich Händel. His imaginative works make him one of the most important figures of the Baroque period. Other well-known works of Händel's include 'The Messiah', 'Water Music', and 'Music for the Royal Fireworks'. Finally, we can picture Atalanta achieving success as the piece ends in jubilation.About the album 'Magic Trumpet'Sound the Trumpet is an album of glorious baroque music associated with royalty where Alison brings the music of the Purcell and Händel to life. collaboration between the English trumpetist, Alison Balson, the conductor and harpsichordist, Trevor Pinnock and the English Concert baroque soloists.

Brass Ensemble Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - SKU: A0.813674 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. 20th Century,Contemporary,Multicultural,Standards,Wedding,World. Score and parts. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #6473843. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813674). I Vow to Thee, My Country (Thaxted) (Bb) (Brass Quintet) - Intermediate - . This marvelous arrangement of I Vow to Thee, My Country, a hymn tune based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav Holst's The Planets, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for church services, especially Weddings and Funerals, but would be appropriate any time during the church year. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of I Vow to Thee, My Country based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Brin.

Diego Marani #3433593. Published by Diego Marani (A0.527766). Dance of the Hours (Italian: Danza delle ore) is a short ballet and is the act 3 finale of the opera La Gioconda composed by Amilcare Ponchielli. It depicts the hours of the day through solo and ensemble dances. Later performed on its own, the Dance of the Hours was at one time one of the best known and most frequently performed ballets. It became even more widely known after its inclusion in the 1940 Disney animated film Fantasia where it is depicted as a comic ballet featuring anthropomorphized ostriches, hippos, elephants, and alligators. In this arrangement for brass quartet (Bb Trumpet 1, Bb Trumpet 2, Trombone or F Horn, Tuba) we have the finale of the ballet, a vigorous can-can introduced by an abrupt change of tempo to allegro vivacissimo.
