Classical,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. 20 pages. Diego Marani #959767. Published by Diego Marani (A0.1375155). In 1882, Tchaikovsky considered creating a concert suite out of numbers from his marvelous ballet Swan Lake, which he had composed six years previously. However, he seems not to have made a final decision, and the authorship of the concert suite published after his death as Op.20a is unknown. In this arrangement for clarinet quartet (Bb Clarinet 1 or Eb Clarinet, Bb Clarinet 2, Bb Clarinet 3 or Eb Alto Clarinet, Bb Bass Clarinet) we have the very famous ninth number of the suite: Dance of the Swans (Dances des Cygnes). It is suitable for any occasion: repertorie, classroom, recital.

Jmsgu3 #3513735. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549612). Tchaikovsky is probably the most popular of the great composers in America. His music certainly appeals to musicians. Likewise, it appeals even to folks who don't usually listen to serious music. This is probably because of his most noteworthy melodies. Above all, he writes with great emotion. This certainly makes a most extraordinary, if not an unforgettable, impact. Education He attended classes at the Russian Musical Society and participated at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. There, he studied music theory with Nikolai Zaremba. Consequently, he also studied composition with Anton Rubenstein. Rubenstein was criticized by Russian composers known as the Five. The Five The Five indeed rejected Western musical influences. They instead sought to use elements from Russian music. Furthermore, they wanted to use more exotic musical materials. Woodwind Ensemble Clarinet - Level 5 - SKU: A0.782418 Composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by James Haynor. Romantic Period. 35 pages. James Haynor #6381985. Published by James Haynor (A0.782418). Swan Lake, Op. 20, is a ballet composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1875–76. Despite its initial failure, it is now one of the most popular ballets of all time. The scenario, initially in two acts, was fashioned from Russian and German folk tales and tells the story of Odette, a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer's curse. Scored here for clarinet quintet, A Night at the Ballet - Swan Lake includes snippets from various parts of the ballet. This arrangement allows this beautiful music to be performed by an ensemble not usually associated with it. ( Duration 6:23 )
