Piano Solo - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1235275 By Elvis Presley. By Carl Sigman, Francois Becaud, and Pierre Delano. Arranged by Timothy Stapay. Film/TV,Jazz,Latin,Singer/Songwriter,Standards. Score. 10 pages. Timothy Stapay #830811. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1235275). This arrangement of What Now My Love is written as performed by legendary pianist, Liberace. It's in a moderate Bolero rhythmic style. What Now, My Love? is the English title of a popular song whose original French version, Et maintenant (English: And Now) was written in 1961 by composer Gilbert Bécaud and lyricist Pierre Delanoë. The recurring musical pattern in the background is the Boléro by Ravel. English lyrics and the title were written by Carl Sigma.Lyrics:What now my love, now that you've left meHow can I live through another dayWatching my dreams turn to ashesAnd my hopes turn to bits of clayOnce I could see, once I could feelNow I am numb, I've become unrealI walk the night, without a goalStripped of my heart and my soulWhat now my love, now that it's overI feel the world falling all around meHere come the stars, tumbling around meThere's the sky, where that sea should beWhat now my love, now that you're goneI'd be a fool to go on and onNo one would care, no one would cryIf I should live if I should live or dieWhat now my love, now there is nothingOnly my last, my last good-byeWładziu Valentino Liberace(May 16, 1919 – February 4, 1987) was an American pianist, singer, and actor. A child prodigy born in Wisconsin to parents of Italian and Polish origin, he enjoyed a career spanning four decades of concerts, recordings, television, motion pictures, and endorsements. At the height of his fame from the 1950s to 1970s, he was the highest-paid entertainer in the world!

Piano Solo - Level 5 - SKU: A0.616215 By Raluca Bojor. By Thomas J. Williams. Arranged by Raluca Bojor. Praise & Worship,Spiritual,Traditional. Score. 5 pages. Raluca Bojor #225372. Published by Raluca Bojor (A0.616215). This piano arrangement features very powerful block and broken chords. The minor key gives it a distinct pull, indicating the depth of Jesus’s love for us. You will hear a lot of two-against-three rhythms between the right hand and the left hand, symbolizing the fact that no matter what challenges we face here on earth, what storms we may face, his love for us is constant, unchanging, even though our circumstances change unexpectedly. Performance time 2’42â€.

Broadway,Contest,Festival,Film/TV,Musical/Show,Singer/Songwriter,Standards. Score. 8 pages. Timothy Stapay #1014454. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1434239). Mon Homme (My Man) is the famous song sung by Barbra Streisand in the movie Funny Girl It is arranged as performed by Barbra's good friend, Liberace. Liberace helped give Barbra Streisand her start in the early days of Las Vegas and he recognized her talent very early. My Man, is a popular song first published in 1920. The song was originally composed by Maurice Yvain with French lyrics by Jacques-Charles (Jacques Mardochée Charles) and Albert Willemetz. The English lyrics were written by Channing Pollock. Funny Girl is a 1968 American biographical-musical film directed by William Wyler and written by Isobel Lennart, adapted from her book for the stage musical of the same title. It is loosely based on the life and career of comedienne Fanny Brice.A major critical and commercial success, Funny Girl became the highest-grossing film of 1968 in the United States and received eight Academy Award nominations. Streisand won Best Actress, tying with Katharine Hepburn (The Lion in Winter). In 2006, the American Film Institute ranked the film No. 16 on its list commemorating AFI's Greatest Movie Musicals.[FANNY]Oh, my man, I love him so[FANNY, spoken]He'll never knowAll my life is just despairBut I don't careWhen he takes me in his armsThe world is bright, alrightWhat's the difference if I say I'll go awayWhen I know I'll come back on my knees somedayFor whatever my man is, I am his[FANNY]Forever moreIt cost me a lot but that's one thing that I've gotIt's my manCold and wet tired you betBut all that I soon forget, with my manHe's not much for looksAnd no hero out of books, he's my manTwo or three girls has heThat he likes as well as me but I love himOh my man I love him so, he'll never knowAll my life is just despair but I don't careWhen he takes me in his armsThe world is bright, alrightWhat's the difference if I say I'll go awayWhen I know I'll come back on my knees somedayFor whatever my man is, I am hisForever more.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1125813 By Michael Swedberg. By Gustav Holst. Arranged by Terrence Niska. Christmas,Contemporary,Holiday. Score. 8 pages. Niska Music Publishing #726553. Published by Niska Music Publishing (A0.1125813). Another arrangement that had its genesis as a vocal chart for Five By Design. However, this piece went on to be performed in our holiday show, “A Winter’s Evening.†I have always loved the Gustav Holst melody to Christina Rossetti’s poem, subsequently it was that setting that I chose to arrange for our group. When I was selecting pieces for my second collection of Christmas Preludes, I knew this would be among them. The piece starts out quite gently, and in my mind’s ear I hear a cello and oboe establishing a mood of utter serenity and calm as the snow gently falls outside the frost-covered window. Soon the oboe is joined by a clarinet as they play a duet while the cello continues the gentle sway of eighth notes. For the pianist, there must be great control of the left hand to keep it as calm as possible while the melody floats above, just as the snow falls to the earth. As the second verse begins, the right hand now plays a triplet pattern beneath the melody. It is a gentle breeze, stirred by the wings of angels and cherubim, upon which the crystalline flakes swirl and dance in the cold night air. All the while the left hand continues its steady motion of eighth notes. Halfway through the triplet pattern moves to the left hand and the right hand takes up the eighth notes while still keeping the melody above all. The verse comes to a close with a slowing of the tempo to emphasize the importance of what the poet states in the last lines of the poem: “Yet what I can I give Him, — Give my heart.†It is all that any of us can do, and all that we are asked to do.

Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show,Singer/Songwriter,Standards. Score. 8 pages. Timothy Stapay #832776. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1237260). This arrangement of All The Things You Are is written as performed by piano artist, Liberace. It has an extended introduction based up the theme from Rachmaninoff's 2nd Piano Concerto. All the Things You Are is a song composed by Jerome Kern with lyrics written by Oscar Hammerstein II.The song was written for the musical Very Warm for May (1939)and was introduced by Hiram Sherman, Frances Mercer, Hollace Shaw, and Ralph Stuart. It appeared in the film Broadway Rhythm (1944) when it was sung by Ginny Simms, and again in the Kern biopic Till the Clouds Roll By (1946), sung by Tony Martin.Popular recordings of the song in 1939 were by Tommy Dorsey and His Orchestra (vocal by Jack Leonard), Artie Shaw and His Orchestra (vocal by Helen Forrest) and Frankie Masters and His Orchestra (vocal by Harlan Rogers). The song has been recorded by a plethora of artists. It is considered a jazz standard.Lyrics:Time and again I've longed for adventure Something to make my heart beat the faster What did I long for? I never really knew Finding your love I've found my adventure  Touching your hand, my heart beats the faster  All that I want in all of this world is you  [Chorus:]  You are the promised kiss of springtime  That makes the lonely winter seem long  You are the breathless hush of evening  That trembles on the brink of a lovely song You are the angel glow that lights a star The dearest things I know are what you are  Some day my happy arms will hold you  And some day I'll know that moment divine When all the things you are, are mineWładziu Valentino Liberace(May 16, 1919 – February 4, 1987) was an American pianist, singer, and actor. A child prodigy born in Wisconsin to parents of Italian and Polish origin, he enjoyed a career spanning four decades of concerts, recordings, television, motion pictures, and endorsements. Piano Solo - Level 5 - SKU: A0.873046 Composed by Sally Whitwell. Contemporary. Score. 11 pages. Sally Whitwell #6119391. Published by Sally Whitwell (A0.873046). A Week in November… and what a week it was! It was the week of the US Presidential Election 2020. As I write these words, the absurdist tantrums of the Trump-Pence campaign versus the reasoned compassion of team Biden-Harris continues even well after the results have been called in the Democrats’ favour. There will not be the usual respectful concession speech and transition of power. I worry every day about how these next few months will be so very difficult, maybe even dangerous, for my American friends. Those convoys of flag waving Trumpists gleefully, openly, encouraged by their ‘leader’, attempting to block the democratic process was horrifying to witness. Was America on the brink of civil war? It still doesn’t seem far fetched to think that as I sit in my studio on the other side of the world, feeling helpless. The only thing I felt that I could do for my friends over there was to offer them a way to feel safe and loved in the moment, a bit of musical mindfulness. It was in this spirit that I wrote the second movement of this work, subtitled A Pocket Full of Calm. My excellent pianist friends Erica Sipes (USA) and Sandra Mogensen (Canada) adopted my little tune, recorded it on their social media to share said moment in the moment as it were. I hope it helped. I mean, if I can bring to even just one person some sense of calm solidarity, I’m happy with that. The fifth movement in the set, Victorious, resolute, but gracious, was a stream-of-consciousness creative response to the Biden Harris victory and the way they handled it so eloquently, so humbly, how they gave the world a sense of optimism once more. For a long while, I’d felt that I probably wouldn’t be welcome in America. As a mixed race, queer woman I was the antithesis of everything they valued. But now, people like me over there can feel human again. The relief! As for the other days of that week in November, they are part of a continuing series of daily composition exercises I started back in October in an effort to end a lengthy period of pandemic-induced creative block. Using a combination of exercises from Music Composition Toolbox (Barbeler/Blom/Hindson) and Brian Eno’s Oblique Strategies I’ve been able to find my creativity again. Starting a composition ‘habit’ is the best thing I’ve done for my writing all year and is how I mean to continue for a long time. Sally Whitwell12 November 2020
