Redner, Richard Storrs Willis, Traditional, and etc. Arranged by Ben Clapton. Christmas. 57 pages. Ben Clapton #6142519. Published by Ben Clapton (A0.842488). It’s Christmas time! Time for Christmas Carols! The problem is that many Christmas Carols are written in keys that aren’t friendly for the violin, especially for the beginner violinist, who initially learns notes in G, D and A major, whilst carols are often written in F, Eb and Bb major. So I’ve arranged twenty-nine favourite carols for beginner violin, with piano accompaniment. Each carol has the notes fully fingered, simple logical bowing, and is designed specifically for a beginner player. That means that it follows the finger pattern with your second and third close for most songs, and doesn’t utilise a fourth finger at all.
