Double Bass,String Bass Solo - Level 5 - SKU: A0.869156 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Baroque,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Individual part. 44 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #31067. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869156). I received an email from Joel Quarrington in 2011 with a request to buy a score and a set of parts to Hylidae … The Tree Frogs (1991) for violin, double bass and piano. He said he would like to perform the work at the next International Society of Bassists convention in Rochester, New York. I told him That is great. But it’s such an old work. Why don’t I write something new for you? He said, How much would a commission cost? I said, Let me write the piece first and if you like it, we can talk about a fee then. I began work on Toccata for Double Bass and Piano in late August and completed it on October 15. I sent Joel the music as a PDF and MIDI file via email. He wrote back, The piece looks really terrific and I have enjoyed listening to it as well, thanks for the midi file. I couldn’t be happier! Toccata is in three movements, fast-slow-fast, with internal ABA ternary forms in the first and last movements - also fast-slow-fast. Moderato … Trio … A tempo. Adagio. Allegro … Trio … Reprise! The first movement begins with a driving dotted-note motif in the double bass accompanied by an insistent sixteenth-note bass-line in the piano left hand and a soaring quarter-note melody in the piano right hand. A Trio follows which features a lyric melody in the double bass … molto cantabile! The double bass returns this time stealing the sixteenth-note bass-line motif from the piano left hand. The double bass pushes the music forward relentlessly and ferociously … holding no prisoners! To add counterpoint to this madness, the piano comes back with the quarter-note melody but in octaves this time. The left hand joins the melee occasionally to push the music forward until it reaches its climax at the conclusion. The second movement, Adagio, is a slow waltz. The mournful tune is delivered by the double bass at first, then it’s passed on to the piano, and it goes back and forth between the two. The third movement is a 6/8 romp, very syncopated and jazzy. The music goes back and forth between the double bass and piano, not unlike when the musicians in a jazz combo trade four’s among each other. An adagio Trio follows. The tune is in the double bass: long descending lines over a languid piano accompaniment. To complete the ABA format, the music from the beginning of this movement returns as a reprise. ENJOY!!! Commissioned by Joel Quarrington for a premiere performance at the 2013 International Society of Bassists Convention at Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.

String Quintet Cello,Double Bass,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1108382 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Chamber,Christian,Classical,Instructional,Religious. 25 pages. Regis Bookshar #711023. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1108382). Recordare (from Requiem (K. 626) - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart/Franz Xaver Sussmayr - String Quintet - Advanced/Intermediate - . Hauntingly beautiful is how the Recordare from Mozart's Requiem is often described. Originally written for an orchestra and four vocal soloists, it has now been transcribed by Regis Bookshar for a String Quintet, consisting of 2 Violins, 1 Viola, 1 Violoncello and 1 Double Bass, and would be a wonderful addition to any music library. This arrangement will provide students with the opportunity to play this beautiful composition, something which they may not have had the opportunity to do, otherwise. This selection could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this arrangement. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (25 pages). The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble has performed the Trumpet Quintet version of the Recordare for funerals, providing beautiful, introspective music for the occasion. There is some controversy surrounding the circumstances of the Requiem's composition because Mozart died before he could complete it. Count Franz von Walsegg had commissioned a Requiem Mass but Mozart had received only half of the payment in advance. So, upon his death on December 5th, 1791, his widow, Constanze, wished to have the work completed secretly by someone else and submit it to the count as having been completed by Mozart to collect the final payment. Joseph von Eybler was one of the first composers to be asked to complete the score and had worked on a number of movements but felt unable to complete the remainder and gave the manuscript back to Constanze Mozart. The task was then given to another composer, Franz Xaver Sussmayr. Sussmayr borrowed some of Eybler's work in making his completion, added his own orchestration to other movements and added several new movements which a Requiem Mass would normally comprise. He then added a final section by adapting the opening two movements which Mozart had written to the different words which finish the Requiem Mass, which according to both Sussmayr and Mozart's wife, was done according to Mozart's directions. The completed score, initially by Mozart but largely finished by Sussmayr, was then dispatched to Count Walsegg complete with a counterfeited signature of Mozart dated 1792. Despite the controversy over how much of the music is actually Mozart's, the commonly performed Sussmayr version has become widely accepted by the public, and is considered one of Mozart's finest compositions. The Recordare is considered by many people to be one of the most beautiful compositions in Mozart's entire catalogue. Regis Bookshar, a trumpet player, has performed the Requiem in concert with a full orchestra, soloists and a chorus and felt that other musicians should have the opportunity to play the hauntingly beautiful Recordare as well. So, in addition to this arrangement for a String Quintet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this beautiful composition. There are Quintets, Sextets, Septets and Octets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may fine something else which may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of Mozart's Recordare, will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Bluegrass. 771 (ebook and online audio). 49 pages. Mel Bay Publications - Digital Sheet Music #30888MEB. Published by Mel Bay Publications - Digital Sheet Music
ISBN 9781513459707. 8.75x11.75 inches.
Although designed for newcomers to the upright bass and bluegrass music in general, this unique approach to creating basslines has something for everyone! The first half focuses on bass-playing essentials, giving the reader a solid technical footing with the instrument. Then, using his own baritone voice and the classic bluegrass song, Going Down the Road Feeling Bad, author Nate Sabat reveals his creative process in crafting effective basslines from the songs melody and chord progression. The second half focuses on bass playing within the specific context of complementing bluegrass vocals. Well beyond what you might expect from an introductory method, Nate tastefully guides the reader by presenting multiple composed bassline options for each of five well-known bluegrass songs: Rabbit in the Log, Dont this Road Look Rough and Rocky?, Long Journey Home, I Am a Pilgrim, and Angel Band. Nates warm, pitch-perfect vocals can be heard on virtually every track, giving this method an undeniable musicality. A lightly accompanied vocal track with no bass is also provided, so you can be the sole upright or electric bassist in the band. Youll not only want to back Nate upbut sing harmony with him too! The impulse to sing cant help but influence your bass playing in a natural and positive way. Nate provides notated versions of the eight major scales most commonly used in bluegrass. Once you get them under your fingers, youll soon be able to play along with the books 50 companion online recordings. With its simple harmonic palette and repetitive nature, bluegrass music offers bassists the perfect opportunity to become musically literate. If youve hesitated to learn to read music, this is the time and place to eliminate that drawback. Working through these 46 pages will provide the tools and confidence needed to create your own engaging and musical basslines and hopefully, youll be inspired to continue your bluegrass bass journey for years to come. Includes access to online audio.

String Quintet Cello,Double Bass,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - SKU: A0.521718 By Andrea Bocelli & Sarah Brightman. By Francesco Sartori. Arranged by Sherry Lewis. Contemporary. 18 pages. Sherry Lewis Publishing #6402909. Published by Sherry Lewis Publishing (A0.521718). TIME TO SAY GOODBYE String Orchestra for 2 violins, viola, cello and string bass chord charts such as E, Cm, etc. Intermediate Level Score: 5 pages Parts: 10 pages Time: 3'30 MY QUARTET VERSIONS, in short notice work fine for solo, two parts and three parts however I also offer individual versions for one, two and three parts that are more detailed for these ensembles. Please visit https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=sherry+lewis+publishing for all of the titles I offer. If you can’t find a title then contact me through www.baysbest.com/smp-arrangeme/ and I’ll give you the link back to Sheet Music Plus’s listing. VERSATILE Titles that include four parts are written with the idea that they can be performed with 1, 2, 3 or 4 musicians. Most of the contemporary/popular titles include a chord chart for a bass instrument. PRACTICE needs would vary according to the level of the performers but my goal is to be sight-readable for most performers and groups. AUDIO SAMPLE The 30 second mp3 is frequently shortened and may not start at the introduction to get to the reprise. The actual introduction will be in the sheet music. LISTENABILITY I have performed thousands of weddings and special events. I make it a goal for the music to carry as well as possible through loud and large space situations. ARRANGEMENTS usually follow the original version. There is an mp3 where you can hear 30 seconds and get a feeling of the originality of the work. EXCELLENT for corporate events, weddings, social gatherings and recitals. APPROPRIATE for students and schools. CHURCH REPERTOIRE I’m always adding more titles. Sherry Lewis is a professional arranger and musician residing in Northern California. Thank you for your purchase!

No Time to Die is a the twenty-fifth instalment in the James Bond film series produced by Eon Productions. It features Daniel Craig in his fifth and final outing as the fictional MI6 agent James Bond. It is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear, Jeffrey Wright, Léa Seydoux, and Christoph Waltz reprise their roles from previous films, with Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, Dali Benssalah, Billy Magnussen, and Ana de Armas joining the cast.
The theme song is sung by the American singer Billie Eilish. In January 2019, Eilish told her management that she wanted to be involved "if any Bond things come up?whatever we have to do we will do". When the opportunity did arise, the pair jumped into action to book a recording studio, but it left them "intensely uninspired" and suffering from writer's block. Following this lacklustre day in the studio and they ended up writing and recording the song in a tour bus in Texas, after Finneas came up with an initial chord progression; in just three days the song was written and recorded. Prior to this, the siblings had a meeting with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, who sent them the script for the opening scene in order to give them a bit of inspiration, which Eilish said was "so cool" and "really, really helpful."
Finneas claimed it was useful to go back to listen to previous Bond themes to ensure they were on the right track and did not copy or recreate something which had already been done before, adding that "there are few things in your career that are as desirable as doing a Bond song. We did not take the opportunity lightly and worked as hard as we could to prove ourselves". Eilish also revealed that Daniel Craig himself had a major role in vetting the submissions.

As in the other two concertos for bass, the harp plays a significant roll throughout the work providing a harmonic backdrop on which the basses play. Conceived as a conversation between the two soloists, their parts interweave, calling and answering each other. The orchestra is interwoven with the basses to add contrast and color. The Double Concerto in B Minor should be interesting to both performer and audience. This is a piano reduction.

String Ensemble Double Bass,Violin - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1111387 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Chamber,Christian,Classical,Instructional,Religious. 28 pages. Regis Bookshar #713674. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1111387). Recordare (from Requiem (K. 626) - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart/Franz Xaver Sussmayr - String Sextet - Advanced/Intermediate - . Hauntingly beautiful is how the Recordare from Mozart's Requiem is often described. Originally written for an orchestra and four vocal soloists, it has now been transcribed by Regis Bookshar for a String Sextet, consisting of 5 Violins and 1 Double Bass, and would be a wonderful addition to any music library. This arrangement will provide students with the opportunity to play this beautiful composition, something which they may not have had the opportunity to do, otherwise. This selection could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this arrangement. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (28 pages). So, in addition to this arrangement for a String Sextet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this beautiful composition.

So, in addition to this arrangement for a String Octet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this beautiful composition.

Regis Bookshar #713678. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1111391). Recordare (from Requiem (K. 626) - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart/Franz Xaver Sussmayr - String Sextet - Advanced/Intermediate - . Hauntingly beautiful is how the Recordare from Mozart's Requiem is often described. Originally written for an orchestra and four vocal soloists, it has now been transcribed by Regis Bookshar for a String Sextet, consisting of 5 Violoncellos and 1 Double Bass, and would be a wonderful addition to any music library. The American Seasons (double basses part – violin and string orchestra) MO148HDouble Basses Part (score and parts available)Music by Mark O’Connor40 pages - 38:00 minutes in length The American Seasons(Seasons Of An American Life)The American Seasons (Seasons Of An American Life) is a concerto for Violin And Chamber Orchestra. Composed in 1999, the music celebrates the various stages of an American life at the waking of the 21st century. Constructed in four movements and representing four stages of life, birth, adolescence, maturity and old age, the music also pays homage to Shakespeare's Seasons Of Man His acts being seven ages, incorporated throughout the work.Spring introduces the ideas of birth and infancy. After the principal theme has been stated, there is a violin cadenza encountering all twelve major keys and a 13/8 time signature representing the ancient golden ratio. These elements recall birth with all the possibilities a new life offers. Ending the movement, the principal theme is repeated with more complexity... as if posing life's questions.Summer represents the excitement and bravado of youthful adolescence and young adulthood. For the style of this movement I use a happy-go-lucky Blues voice which melds into Swing. I identify swing rhythm in all of 20th century American music culture as a common thread that runs through Ragtime through Rock and Roll on to Rap. Swing means testing the waters and pushing the envelope for lovers and soldiers.Fall is the slow movement symbolizing the wisdom of maturity. It is a peaceful theme with nostalgic strokes. It is a time for sincere reflection and enjoying ones accomplishments in life.Winter embodies the complexities and knowledge of an older person and that of a dying person. The movement begins with the principal them from Spring, but with a dissonance that emanates from a lifetime full of emotions and responsibilities. In the middle of the movement is a transition to an old world. I use my personal ancestry from Ireland as a foundation from which to rediscover one's lineage and explore the meaning and value of a cultural legacy. The exploration evolves into a four- and five-part fugue with a reel, jig, air, countered bass and the motif from the principal theme. All these elements, dances and melodies appear simultaneously and converge to form a unique insight to life's consequences from a historical perspective. Following the fugue, the principal theme finds its way back in. It sounds much as it did at birth. In the end, the solo violin cadenza carries the last earthly breaths before the violin and orchestra once again join in harmony to focus on a new life being transformed somewhere else. Life's four seasons in perpetuity.
