A Completely New Method for Beginners. Composed by Jim Payne. Percussion: Drum Set. 0. E-book and online audio/video. Mel Bay Publications - Digital Sheet Music #98356MEB. Published by Mel Bay Publications - Digital Sheet Music
ISBN 9781619117600.
Basic drum set coordination can be learned very quickly using vocal sounds instead of written notes. Drums from Day One is an adaptation of the proven asolfegea technique to the drum set. aSolfege,a (singing musical notes with syllables) has been used for hundreds of years by teachers of virtually every other musical instrument. The traditional way of beginning the drums by studying and analyzing written drum notation and applying various notes to the four limbs is a complex task that takes a good deal of time. Although reading and writing music will also be covered in this book, beginners can get started much faster with the asolfegea system. This is not a aquick fixa or a promise to make you a drum expert in one day, but this method has been tested and proven with hundreds of students over the years and it is very efficient and offers immediate results. The student will learn to play 8 songs in all the basic styles: Rock, Blues, Shuffle and Funk. The songs are especially designed and graded for beginners, and are recorded with and without drums on the companion audio. Includes access to online audio containing recorded examples of all the exercises in the book.

Marching Band - Level 1 - SKU: A0.886865 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Justin M. Ryan. Children. Score and parts. 1 pages. Justin M. Ryan #3001355. Published by Justin M. Ryan (A0.886865). This song is based on the Traditional Song Here We Go Around the Mulberry Bush. A perfect song to teacher your children about different percussion instruments and how they work. It also works well when you are teaching kids how to stay in line or march single file. It is broken up into 2 sections. The first section is for teaching and more relaxed rhythmically. The second section is used for the marching portion. Each child should have a chance using the instruments notated in the music. This song also encourages good listening skills. When the teacher says play the drum, only children with a drum should play. It also increases use of motor skills with the different actions such as shake, scrape etc.

Hand Drum,Handpan,Instrumental Solo,Steel Pan - Level 2 - SKU: A0.569910 By Sharon Wilson. By Traditional. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. Easter,Folk,Praise & Worship,Sacred,Traditional. Individual part. 10 pages. Sharon Wilson #6685597. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.569910). This sheet music is notated for C major diatonic scale Tongue Drums (suitable for any 8, 11, or 13-note drum in the key of C). This hymn arrangement can be performed as a solo, as rhythmic chord accompaniment for singing, or as a duet. Four separate scores are provided for maximum flexibility. Whether beginner or experienced musician, these scores can be used in numerous ways from solo playing to playing with a partner or as a group. A note and chord reference chart is included as well as a rhythm pattern chart. Descriptions, suggestions, and uses for each score and chart are detailed on the introduction page and summarized below:Melody ScoreThis score can be played as a solo with or without singing along. Those new to reading standard music notation as well as those already familiar with music notation will find the numbers above the staff helpful. These numbers correspond to the numbers on the Tongue Drum. Lyrics appear below the staff for sing along enjoyment. Harmony ScoreThis score can be used in conjunction with the Melody Score to form a duet by providing the accompaniment (harmony) while someone plays or sings the melody. Note numbers below the staff corresponding to the numbers on the drum. Chord names are shown above the staff for playing a rhythmic accompaniment in place of the harmony accompaniment shown. The chord names can also be used for ensemble playing with other instruments (such as a Ukulele or Guitar).Grand StaffThe Grand Staff score combines the Melody Score with the Harmony Score. This score provides a visual overview of how the two scores line up and is helpful for a director or teacher using this set of scores in a group setting. If playing with a partner (a duet), this score may be easier to use since you both can see what the other person is playing. This score includes note numbers above the melody staff and below the harmony staff corresponding to the numbers on the drum; chord names shown above the harmony staff for ensemble playing with other instruments or for using a rhythmic chord accompaniment; and lyrics between the staves for sing along enjoyment. Advanced Solo ScoreThe Advanced Solo score includes harmony notes along with the melody notes to create a fuller sounding solo which can be played with or without singing along. Numbers corresponding to the numbers on the Tongue Drum are included above the staff.Note and Chord ChartThis chart consists of two separate staff rows. The first staff shows the notes used for the melody. The second staff shows the notes in each chord used in this song. Any combination of the notes within a given chord can be played using one of the rhythm patterns. Rhythm ChartThis chart shows four rhythm patterns that can be used as an accompaniment for the melody. Using the Harmony Score or the Grand Staff, follow the chord names to play notes from the given chord using one of the rhythm patterns. This arrangement is one of the 10 songs in the collection Hymns of Praise for 8-note C major diatonic scale Tongue Drums (A collection of 10 Solos and Duets).Visit Sharon Wilson's website: www.SharonWilsonMusic.comSubscribe to her YouTube Channel: www.youtube.com/user/SharonWilsonMusic

String Orchestra - Level 3 - SKU: A0.750794 Composed by Traditional Australian Folksongs. Arranged by Brendan Elliget MAGA 537. Folk. Score and parts. 33 pages. BJE Music #3602315. Published by BJE Music (A0.750794). Australian Folksong Medley No. 6 – String Group with Optional Percussion - Suitable for a school or community group. This Medley includes:1. The Dying Stockman (3/4 Waltz Tempo): Wrap me up with my stockwhip and blanket And bury me deep down below. Where the dingoes and crows can't molest me In the shade where the Coolibahs grow.2. Jim Jones of Botany Bay (6/8 Adagio in 6) is a traditional Australian folk ballad. The narrator, Jim Jones, is arrested, tried, and sentenced to transportation. En route, his ship is attacked by pirates, but the crew holds them off. Arriving in Australia, Jones vows to escape, join the bushrangers, and get revenge.3. The Drovers Dream (6/8 Brightly in 2)One night when traveling sheep, my companions lay asleep There was not a star illuminate the sky. I was dreaming I suppose, for my eyes were partly closed. When a very strange procession passed me by. First there came a kangaroo with a swag of blankets blue. And the dingo ran beside him as his mate. They were traveling mighty fast but they shouted as they passed. We'll have to jog along, it's getting late. This arrangement is for String Orchestra with plenty of interest for all sections. There are also Optional Percussion parts - Timpani, Drum Set, Glockenspiel, and Xylophone. There is a Violin 3 part which is a substitute for the Viola Part. There are also versions for Full Orchestra, Concert Band and Brass Band at this website. The MP3 was recorded with NotePerformer 3.Grade = 3 Duration = 5:30 mins.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - SKU: A0.891205 Composed by Traditional Irish. Arranged by Laurie Betts Hughes. Contemporary,Folk,World. Octavo. 26 pages. Dandelion Music Press #3104495. Published by Dandelion Music Press (A0.891205). The first of three movements, here is a great opportunity to collaborate with a children's or youth choir and Irish instrumentalists, or to freely substitute any treble solo and Western instrumental equivalent.Included in Project : Encore 2017Lost Songs of Ancient Ireland, for Mixed Choir with Treble Descant, Piano or Harp, Bodhran, Irish Flute, and Violin, is a three-movement song cycle that focuses on the shifting relationships over the scope of a lifetime from the differing perspective of each person involved. I. Old Beggarman- Two interwoven jigs, It Was an Old Beggarman, Weary and Wet and Ag an mBóithrÃn Buà (At the Yellow Little Road), of both a young lady's observation of a wandering beggarman and his unrequited, possibly unexpressed, love for her. They are offered together as alternate perspectives from potential romantic partners, and features lilting, mouth music, or portaireacht bhéil (port a'bhéil, mouth-singing) as it is known in Irish Gaelic.II. I Would Rock My Child to Sleep- A sentimental Irish lullaby Irish lullaby Do Chuirfinnse Féin Mo Leanbh a Chodladh (I Would Put My Own Child to Sleep) highlights the shifting roles of a caregiver: the parent full of hopes of the parent for the child morphing over a lifetime into a blessing from the grown child to the aged parent. Each verse is progressively based upon an overall narrative: 1. hopes of the parent for the child 2. an easy, natural rhythm to family life, possibly the child is older now, and there is a dream of family continuance 3. uncertainty over who is nurturing who: does the child now sing to comfort the parent? 4. a closing blessing for peace and rest that hearkens back to the successful sleep of a tired infant III. The Drummer- An energetic reel, a combination of Maidin Fhómhair, nó CailÃn Péacach (The Harvest Maiden, or Sprouting Maiden) and Cormac Spáinneach, nó An Drumadóir (Cormac Spaineach, or The Drummer), alternating between romantic partners encased by a nostalgic love song, suggesting the passing of a lifetime.Commissioned by Cora Voce; Tacoma, WASet of three and single movements available for purchase.2017 Choral Contest EntryLaurie Betts Hughes, ASCAP | www.LaurieBettsHughes.com
