Arranged for SATB, here are five all-time classic Christmas songs with a warm and nostalgic feeling.O Holy Night and Silent Night both originated in 19th century Europe while Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas was introduced by Judy Garland in a 1944 Hollywood musical. Silver Bells was a 1950 Livingston-Evans pop hit but surely the most famous of them all is Irving Berlin's White Christmas, the 1940 song for which its composer had high hopes the moment he completed it. Conceived as a nostalgic number, White Christmas was a slow starter but went on to become a huge success and, for many, the ultimate Christmas song.These arrangements lend themselves to being performed separately or in seamless succession for a Classic Christmas recital audiences will love. / Choeur Mixte (SATB) Et Piano

The Twelve Days Of Christmas has been a popular Christmas carol ever since it was first published in 1780. The version of the melody and the lyrics most popular today was written in 1909 by the composer and singer Frederic Austin. This was arranged for SATB choir by Eric Thiman and is published here with a Piano reduction for rehearsal purposes. Eric Thiman (1900-1975) was a British composer and organist. He taught at the Royal Academy of Music and at the University of London and was organist at the City Temple in London for many years. He wrote over a thousand works of which several hundred were published during hislifetime mostly anthems chorales and chamber works.

Gardner was a modern English composer and teacher held in great esteem who is best known for his setting of Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day which is the most popular arrangement of that carol and frequently performed

Written for the King's Singers A Hymn To The Virgin won the 'A Carol for Christmas' competition run by the vocal sextet and Classic FM. Re-edited for SSATBB the two languages of the text are set in contrasting styles of solo lines and chordal harmony coming together at the end of each verse. A meditative work that would make an excellent concert ending.
