Dehnhard sets up the score with fingering patterns and playing instructions to approach intonationally the nuanced pitch changes that often require small variations around a single note. Many changes of meter in this piece for advanced players support the rhythmic differentiations which creates an energetic expressive solo. The use of circular breathing perfects the flow of the work, whose sound world is hard to escape. Études Modernes for the Flute is a set of sixteen studies by Paul Jeanjean (1874-1928). Composed in 1868 and initially composed for Clarinet these studies would fit advanced players. Each one of these Études Modernes is 3 or 4 pages long and extremely technically challenging. They all require strong attention good endurance and they could be used to prepare the player for combinations of chords and rhythmic figures of contemporary music. Paul Jeanjean (1874-1928) is a French composer known for his clarinet compositions. He also composed ''Vade-Mecum' of the ClarinetPlayer' 'Arabesques' and 'Clair Matin'.

Contemporary Japanese composer Yuko Uebayashi moved to Paris in 1998. Uebayashi's works have been met with much success in both Japan and France  Suite For Flute And Cello being no exception. Flautist Jean Ferrandis described Uebayashi's music as 'gems that although they are so different they yet belong to the same world a world of vivacity dreams tenderness humour and one that is subtly contradicted by vehemence virtuosity melancholy and sorrow.' Suite For Flute And Cello is made up of six movements with a typical performance lasting around 18minutes. Suite For Flute And Cello is modern in style exploiting tonality rhythm and the ensemble.
