I Used to Play Tenor Saxophone is a new book for adults looking to get back into playing the Tenor Sax and will help jumpstart their memory and comfort with music. Its no. 1 goal is to get people re-acquainted with their instrument by providing them with types of music they want to play like pop jazz and classic tunes rather than etudes. There are many ways of explaining exactly how you should perform swing music but of course it’s most fun to learn as you play. A variation of a small section of the main score is also proposed to the player. Difficulties highlighted in the piece are the fast rhythms and the resulting endurance necessary to play them. Studies for Saxophone- This collection by Jayson Mackie contains 20 solo compositions in a Latin style for the Eb Alto Saxophone. Latin music has been a particular favourite genre of mine to write in having grown up listening to jazz bands and playing in them as a teenager. Most people can name a handful of the more well-known dances (thanks to the popularity of Strictly Come Dancing!) but I knew there were many more lesser-known Latin styles out there. So in August 2015 I decided to research some of the many dance forms of the Caribbean and South America.
