The Fountain Reverie features soft, rippling arpeggios with a contrasting middle section. As with the Festival Toccata, published at the same time, the brilliance of Fountain Reverie disguises the fact that one does not need to be a virtuoso to play it well and effectively, and it plays well on many different Organs.Percy Fletcher was an English composer, conductor and Orchestrator of prodigious output who made his career in the lively world of the London music theatre of the years of the late 19th and early 20th century. Bridge's early works - those written before the first World War - were more late Romantic in style, warmly expansive, than his mature works. The Adagio is a four-Voice fugue of poetic expressiveness that makes full use of the instrument's tonal resources.British composer Frank Bridge was active in the early decades of the 20th century and was a highly respected conductor, violist and teacher - his sole composition student having been Benjamin Britten. Britten honoured his former teacher in his work Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge, based on a theme from one of Bridge's pieces for String quartet.

This three movement organ work was commissioned by the village of Webster, New York, in celebration of its 100th anniversary (1905-2005). The musical language of the work alludes to styles of the early 20th century. The three movements are Trolley Trumpet Tune (a traditional trumpet tune, with some train horn interjections); Apple Orchard Ayre (a lyrical and serene contemplation); and Ridge Road Rondeau (a rondo with some ragtime influences). 20 pages Published by: Zimbel Press.
