'Jazzy Cello' is intended to provide young musicians with primarily classical training the opportunity of becoming acquainted with jazz-oriented music. The technical demands have been kept deliberately simple. (Grade 4). The five pieces provide interesting material for both practice and performance.

18 tuneful and jazzy pieces for the beginner celli-The tunes in Mellow Cello are designed to provide an introduction to jazz and popular music styles for young cellists ranging from beginners to performers at a somewhat more advanced level. The first pieces use only open strings both pizzicato and bowed: here the cellist gains experience in counting rests as well as exploring the four strings. From pieces 4 to 9 the fingers are brought into play starting with the first finger only until all four are used. The pieces in the second half of the book allow the cellist to explore a variety of jazz styles. A piano accompaniment part is included for concert performances.

Cello Part. This book contains nine pieces from ABRSM?s Grade 5 Cello syllabus from 2024, three pieces chosen from each of Lists A, B and C ? ideal for both Practical and Performance Grade exams. The pieces have been carefully selected to offer an attractive and varied range of styles, creating a collection that provides an excellent source of repertoire to suit every performer. The book also contains helpful footnotes and, for those preparing for exams, useful syllabus information. An edition with piano accompaniment and audio is also available - it includes downloadable recordings of all nine pieces, plus piano accompaniment tracks.
