Een capriccio is een muziekstuk waarin de componist zich niet strikt aan de formele â??klassiekeâ?? conventies houdt, maar eerder zijn eigen ideeën volgt. Pascal Proust speelt in dit stuk op een grappige manier met de verwachtingen van de luisteraar: hij presenteert bijvoorbeeld een langzame swinggroove in de piano, die in contrast staat met het barcarolleachtige thema in het blazerstrio, en combineert op kleurrijke wijze kenmerken van de tango en de rock. Der Komponist Pascal Proust spielt hier auf launige Art mit den gängigen Hörerwartungen: Mal konfrontiert er einen langsamen Swing-Groove im Klavier mit einem barkarolenartigen Rhythmus in den Bläsern, mal schreibt er eine Musik irgendwo zwischen Tango und straighter Rock-Nummer.
