Mozart's Concerto K. 453 enjoyed great popularity during the composer's lifetime and was widely known through copies and a print. The state of the sources is thus multi-faceted yet unequivocal: the primary source is the rediscovered autograph, which was considered lost after 1945 and was not at the disposal of the Neue Mozart-Ausgabe. The editorial quality of the new edition is guaranteed not only by Schiffs sensitive fingerings and stylistically well-grounded cadenzas, but also by the Mozart scholar Stephan Horner to whom Henle has entrusted its urtext editions. The Overture to Hermann and Dorothea is the only compositional result that Schumann reaped from Goethes epic poem. He had originally planned an entire opera, then a Singspiel, and finally an oratorio. In the end (1851), he quickly produced an orchestral score that remained unprinted during his lifetime. The striking thematic use of the Marseillaise is multiply motivated: Goethes poem unfolds in 1796, when the two eponymous lovers are fleeing from the French revolutionary troops; Schumann had directly experienced the revolutionary uprisings of 1848 in Dresden; finally, Louis Napoleons coup detat of 2 December 1851 must also have made an impact on the composer. The motet O Jesu, te invocamus arose through an adaptation of the text of the final chorus of Joseph Haydn's Applausus, a festive cantata composed in 1768. For church music performances, the Latin text O Jesu, te invocamus was closely attached to the primary text and often only single words were replaced. The German alternative text Allmachtiger, Preis dir und Ehre, for which there was neither a biblical nor a liturgical basis, was added to the Latin text. Francisco de Madina (1907-1972), also known as Aita Madina, received his education in Bordeaux and was ordained a priest in 1929. He served his first parish in Buenos Aires and became director of a school in Cuidad de Salta. During this time, he began to develop as a composer and started to premiere his work in Buenos Aires. His primary influences included Debussy, Ravel and Prokofiev. In 1955, he moved to New York, where he founded a residence for the Lateran Canons Regular. His music began to enjoy performances in America and Spain. The Basque Children Overture, a perfect header for a family-themed concert, amuses with playful snippets of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, march-like rhythms, and a whirling finish. It consists of 9 works that are artistic arrangements of the most beautiful Polish folk melodies from various regions in which simple melody and rhythm are often combined with a sophisticated harmonic setting. On account of the low level of technical difficulty, these pieces can be used by pupils of the music primary school. The publication is released in the year of Professor Jan Ekier's 100th birthday and is preceded by an introduction by Aneta Teichman - the author of a comprehensive monograph on the eminent Professor (currently in preparation for publication). The graphic design for the collection refers to the aesthetic of PWM's publications of the 1940s; the cover together with our decorative logo is a copy of the cover of J. It was composed as a musical memorial for the Italian national poet Allessandro Manzoni, deeply admired by Verdi, and was first performed on the first anniversary of his death on 22 May 1874 in Milan Cathedral. The present volume of the Bohuslav Martinu Complete Edition (BMCE) contains two vocal-instrumental works. TheField Mass(1939) with a text by Jiri Mucha incorporating bible and liturgy quotes was created in reaction to the outbreak of the Second World War and intended for outdoor performances. The cantataThe Spectre's Bridewith a text by Karel Jaromir Erben was composed in 1932 as part of the balletSpalicek(meaningchapbook); the composer later took out the cantata, making it into a stand-alone concert piece.The autograph scores served as primary sources for both works. The edition of theField Mass(including its performance materials) also contains the original version of the ending with a quote from the Czech medieval hymnJezu Kriste, stedry kneze(Jesu Christ, bountiful priest) and a number of contemporary translations.

This book is a follow-up on Jazz Chords on Piano (WH32971) and it is definitely an advantage if you have familiarised yourself with the techniques and terms used in Jazz Chords on Piano . There are many ways in which to play jazz on a piano. In Jazz Chords on Piano I describe some guidelines for how to prepare accompaniment and melody playing, but admittedly, there are of course many other ways to play or other techniques to use. In Jazz Chords on Piano - 2 I have chosen to focus on four typical techniques: Part 1 - Playing Arpeggio in left hand Part 2 - 4-stacked chords in a piano movement Part 3 - Left-hand chords Part 4 -Overlying triads when accompanying To illustrate the various techniques, I have made compositions that are stylistically adjusted so that the various techniques make musical sense and are playable.
