Organ SKU: AP.12-0571507719 Volume 1. England 1510-1590. Ed...(+)
Organ SKU: AP.12-0571507719 Volume 1. England 1510-1590. Edited by James Dalton. Masterworks; Organ - Method or Collection. Faber Edition: Early Organ Series. Masterwork. Book. Faber Music #12-0571507719. Published by Faber Music (AP.12-0571507719). ISBN 9780571507719. English. The Faber Early Organ Series is among the most comprehensive anthologies of early organ music ever published. In 18 volumes it spans two centuries and six geographical regions, presenting a broad and balanced view of the main forms, styles and composers. Within each geographical region the pieces, most of which are for manuals only, are arranged by date of composition or publication. The presentation is both scholarly and practical; all of the music has been newly edited from the earliest surviving sources according to a systematic editorial method that preserves as many features of the original notation as possible while making it fully accessible to modern players. In every volume, an informative Introduction sets the music in historical context. There are also helpful sections on Ornamentation and Registration, and a Critical Commentary giving detailed information on the sources. $20.99 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 1 to 2 weeks | | |

Instrumental Work Organ [Sheet music] Rued Langgaard Edition
Vol. 1-3-Collected preludes and minor pieces for organ volume 1-3. Edited by Bi...(+)
Vol. 1-3-Collected preludes and minor pieces for organ volume 1-3. Edited by Birgitte Ebert and Bendt Viinholt Nielsen. The Rued Langgaard Edition Edition Wilhelm Hansen Copenhagen 2017. With the publication of Rued Langgaard’s preludes and minor pieces for organ in three volumes the contribution made by the composer to this repertoire is being presented in its entirety and all its diversity. The publishers have decided to include as many ofLanggaard’s small pieces for organ as it has been possible to present in an authentic form rather than to carry out a selection based on aesthetic or formalcriteria. The 112 compositions are presented in chronological order in accordance with Bendt ViinholtNielsen’s catalogue of works Rued Langgaard’s Compositions (1991). The intention to include as far as possible all the completed compositions in the edition has resulted inconsiderable editorial challenges. In certain cases Langgaard’s own handwritten manuscripts are so unclear or incomplete that the editors have had to abandon the possibility of arriving at a form of publication that lives up to the strict requirements made by the Rued Langgaard Edition regarding authenticity and a critical approach to the source material. Therefore the editors have made no attempt to include a number of mainly untitled and undated preludes which Langgaard left behind in so loose a notation that publication in anything approaching authentic form is not possible (these pieces are registered in the catalogue of works in the appendix of omitted works as U10-U20). Third Part of the Clavier Ubung-In 1739 Bach?s Third Part of the Clavier Übung ...(+)
Third Part of the Clavier Ubung-In 1739 Bach?s Third Part of the Clavier Übung was published on 80 pages closely printed. Ever since then the collection has been regarded as a high point in the history of Organ composition as it offers an impressive cross section of Bach?s artistry. This present volume is an updated edition of Volume 4 Series IV of the New Bach Edition presented by Manfred Tessmer in 1969. A fully revised edition proved unnecessary as there were relatively few corrections affecting the musical text. However the volume now includes a detailed Preface by Christoph Wolff which discusses not only the work?s genesis but also offers an up-to-datedescription of the sources. For the new engraving of the musical text page-turns were reviewed and improved.Bach?s autograph is considered lost and so the main source is the original print of the collection from 1739. In collaboration with the Leipzig Bach Archive and its database Bach Digital this new edition includes links to two important copies of the original print which contain hand-written entries by Bach himself.Any complete scholarly-critical edition of the works of Johann Sebastian Bach must in the interest of its use by researchers and performers incorporate intervening new discoveries wherever possible. With this in mind Bärenreiter has entered an agreement with the Leipzig Bach Archive to reissue particular volumes as applicable either in updated performing editions based on the New Bach Edition or in thoroughly revised editions based on the New Bach Edition - revised. In this way each new performing edition will represent the cutting edge of research.Further hallmarks of this new generation of Urtext editions will be detailed up-to-date Prefaces and newly engraved musical texts with optimum page turns. Each volume will list incipits with links to the relevant manuscripts in Bach Digital thereby enabling the user to gain quick access to the sources.- With altered readings integrated into the musical text taking into account new musicological evidence.- With a new Preface by Christoph Wolff (Ger/Eng) discussing this work and its sources.- Newly engraved and with improved page

BWV 248. Par BACH JOHANN SEBASTIAN. For this edition, Carsten Klomp has transferred the orchestral movement of the 1st cantata from Johann Sebastian Bach's Christmas Oratorio to the organ. It not only enables a performance with a reduced line-up, but also a tonally appealing and surprisingly coherent rendition of this wonderful music. The way the voices are distributed on the manuals and pedal and the balance between virtuosity and good playability ensure both proximity to the original score and an organ-appropriate implementation. Instead of a simple piano reduction on the organ, this version offers an independent performance option that allows the organ to be used in all of its facets and possibilities. The vocal parts (solos and choir) are identical to the edition of the original version (Carus 31.248/00), so that the piano reduction and choral score can be used. The single part for the organ was optimized for page turning, i.e. the choral parts were not printed, but the dacapo was always notated out. / Date parution : 2021-12-09/ Répertoire / Orgue

Christmas Carol Song begins as a slightly grand adaptation of American composer C B Hawley’s Christmas Cradle Song in a dotted 6/8 rhythm to which the Adeste Fideles is added. English Organist and composer Alfred Hollins was active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Blind from birth Hollins was fortunate enough to attend the innovative Royal Normal College for the Blind outside London whose music-intensive curriculum suited his gifts. For more than forty years he was the Organist at the Free St George’s Church in Edinburgh and he travelled the English-speaking world repeatedly on concert tours.

Of great practical value
?This edition has everything it takes to replace the Griepenkerl edition for practical music-making,? opined Rainer Goede (in ?kirchmusik.de?) immediately after the release of Volumes 5 and 6. If such a high degree of practical value is attested to these two volumes, then Volume 7 can proudly claim to have the highest practical value of all, since it has the greatest scope of all the volumes. After all, no organist can do without the basic repertoire of the 45 chorale preludes. Edited by Sven Hiemke, the book offers the best possible prerequisites for everyday use. The musical text is as faithful to the sources as possible, and it preserves Bach?s graphic idiosyncrasies in the beaming of eighth notes and sixteenth notes. Furthermore, the chorales are reproduced on three staves, which is fully in keeping with the practice of the Bach era ? but not with the source, however, since the composer himself notated the pieces of the ?Orgelbüchlein? on two staves, either for reasons of economy or for lack of space. The enclosed CD-ROM contains early versions and anonymous arrangements which should encourage organists to explore this repertoire in greater depth.

Bach: Complete Organ Works Vol. 6 Clavierübung III / Schübler-Choräle / Canon...(+)
Bach: Complete Organ Works Vol. 6 Clavierübung III / Schübler-Choräle / Canonische Veränderungen über 'Vom Himmel hoch' - ed. by Werner Breig Bach Organ Works Printed During the Composer's Lifetime Volume 6 contains the chorale-related organ works that Bach personally had printed: the Dritte Theil der Clavier Übung was published (for organists) in 1739; the Sechs Choräle von verschiedener Art (Schübler-Choräle) and the Canonische Veränderungen were released in separate editions most likely in 1747/48. None of these collections had from the start the appearance which the composer considered as valid in the end. For this reason, Werner Breig focuses in particular on questions of origin in his introduction. Fundamental findings on the genesis of the Clavier Übung III were made only after the publication of the work in the Neue Bach-Ausgabe. The basically unproblematic state of the sources means that this volume contains no CD-ROM with supplementary materials. It was, however, considered editorially necessary to print the Canonische Veränderungen BWV 769 in three versions: as a facsimile of the original print, in a practical arrangement, and in the autograph version (BWV 769a). Orgelbogen - 17 Preludes and Chorale Fantasies (1955- 2014) by Per Nørgård. Edited by Ivan Hansen. A review in the July/August issue of Choir and Organ magazine stated that Orgelbogen is comprised of 'rigorous works in and uncompromising idiom by a major figure far removed from the world of the Anglican organ loft and choir stalls' concluding that '[a]nyone with an interest in contemporary composition for organ should investigate this - it's a beacon of clear-minded compositional integrity. A review in the May-July 2016 edition of 'The Organ' Magazine states that 'the inherentquality' of this publication makes it 'very strongly recommended to organists of all ages and technical accomplishment.'

A scholarly-critical performing edition of George Frideric Handel's Complete Organ Works based on the Halle Handel Edition (HHA).First single-volume edition of Handel's Organ worksIncludes all variant readings from the sources which have previously only been available in the Critical Commentary of the HHADetailed Foreword (Ger/Eng) with short descriptions of each source and a Critical Commentary (Ger/Eng)With contemporary Organ dispositionsIn terms of layout and musical text this Barenreiter edition is based on the complete volumes of the composer's Keyboard music edited by TerenceBest as part of the HHA.The Halle Handel Edition's Critical Commentary forms the basis of this edition which however differs from the HHA volumes in two respects. Firstly it gathers together for the first time all of Handel's works for which it can be solidly argued that they were composed for the Organ. The centre piece is a set of twelve handwritten fugues deriving directly from the composer's immediate surroundings and published here for the first time as a unified cycle. Secondly this Barenreiter edition presents plausible alternative readings from various sources in the main body of the music. In the HHA these readings all of which definitely or presumably stem from the composer are merely listed in the critical commentary.Contents:Fuga I in C minor HWV 610Fuga II in G minor HWV 605Fuga III in B-flat major HWV 607Fuga IV in F minor HWV 433/2Fuga V in E minor HWV 429/1Fuga VI in G major HWV 606Fuga VII in D minor HWV 428/2Fuga VIII in A minor HWV 609Fuga IX in B minor HWV 608Fuga X in F-sharp minor HWV 431/3Fuga XI in F major HWV 427/4Fuga XII in F major HWV 611Fuga in E major HWV 612O the pleasure of the plains in G major HWV 474Jesu meine Freude in G minor HWV 480

The organ part and reduced score Symphony No. 4 - An Organ Symphony (2008) by Poul Ruders. Full score: WH31186 Orch. parts are available on hire: hire@ewh.dk Preface / Programme Note When introducing a large-scale symphonic work not only as a symphony but as an organ symphony it would be impossible not to think of and perhaps compare it with Camille Saint-Saëns’s famous SYMPHONY NO. 3 popularly known as the Organ Symphony. Well that is a risk I am prepared to take – and live with the consequences.Saint-Saëns however listed his work as a symphony avec/withorgan. The organ only appears in two out of the four sections of thepiece. In my symphony the instrument plays a far more significant part and is featured in all four movements. But it is not a concerto for organ and orchestra rather a symphony with organo obligato - a symphony with an organ part of a soloistic nature. So an Organ Symphony it is. The first movement PRELUDE is exactly that: a foreplay to what is in store for the rest of the symphony. It is slow (very slow!) and predominantly hushed: the organ and the orchestra wake up side-by-side getting to know one another. The second movement CORTÈGE is a slowly moving processional and it evokes extreme solemnity and austerity. Later on the music takes flight and the atmosphere lightens considerably a far more playful music emerging. This leads to the third movement ETUDE an exercise in instrumental virtuosity and technical challenge. The fourth and last movement is called CHACONNE but I could just as well have named it passacaglia (the definition of those two terms seems to blur even among the learned). Bearing in mind the last movement of Johannes Brahms´s SYMPHONY NO.4 which is universally agreed on as being a passacaglia I chose to avoid the Wrath of the Gods and opted for
