Les musiques des caraïbes font partie de notre patrimoine culturel. Elles ont emprunté et adapté des rythmes et des harmonies à nos musiques européennes ; elles se sont transformées au contact des peuples indigènes enracinés dans cette région du globe, pour créer leur propre identité musicale. Une forte spécificité africaine leur confère un caractère particulièrement dansant et chaloupé.
La flûte est un instrument très présent dans cette musique, tant dans les caraïbes françaises (flûte des Mornes) que dans les caraïbes espagnoles. Nous découvrirons tout le long de ce volume, bon nombre de rythmes syncopés spécifiques à chacune de ces musiques. À ce propos, des exercices rythmiques seront proposés sous forme de petits patterns audio, extraits directement des morceaux.
Je vous conseille aussi de chanter toutes ces mélodies en entier ou par petits extraits ; l?appropriation par transmission et appropriation orale est plus efficace et renforcera à coup sûr la lecture rythmique de ces rythmes complexes.
N?hésitez pas non plus à chercher dans le mouvement et la danse vos propres jeux musicaux et appuyez-vous sur les accompagnements joués par les percussions, la basse et le piano (version playback seul) pour trouver les appuis rythmiques qui vous aideront à interpréter les mélodies de ce recueil. Il est conseillé de penser la battue à la blanche dans tous les morceaux à 4/4.

Fantasie is a beautiful work for Flute and Orchestra available here for Flute with Piano Reduction. The piece begins with a spacious and atmospheric Assez lent section which is complimented by intricate melodic lines on the flute. This introduction leads into a beautiful Modere section and the piece begins to gain a tremendous impetus henceforth. This exciting piece will present an enjoyable challenge to the advancing flautist providing an enriching addition to their repertoire.The solo flute part is also included on a separate insert.

Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach's Sonata in A minor for solo Flute constitutes a counterpart to the partita of his father Johann Sebastian in the same key. Created in 1747 but unpublished until 1763 it heralds the sentimental style of a new era compared to the ca. 30 years older work of his father. The edition is based on the first edition which is hidden among Piano works by C. Ph. E. Bach and other composers in the anthology 'Musikalisches Mancherley'. A separate edition also published in 1763 proved to be an offspring of the first edition with identical musical text and could be eliminated as source for the edition. But the edition wasalso based on a late 18th-century copy from the Giedde Collection in Copenhagen which is of great significance to the Flute literature. Although it also seems to go back to the first edition it nevertheless turns out to be a contemporary corrective to deficiencies of the first edition in some passages. The practical performance notes of the Kuijken pupil Susanne Schrage not only come close to the musical text by means of the Flute method of Bach's Berlin fellow composer Johann Joachim Quantz but also analyse relevant chapters of 'Versuch über die wahre Art das Clavier zu spielen' by C. Ph. E. Bach himself thus providing interpretational aids right from the composer's perspective.
