James Gibbon Huneker (1857-1921) was a distinguished American newspaper critic, an essayist, and a prolific author. His writing style is remarkable ? unrestrained, informal, full of brilliant insight ? and this style plus Huneker's wide knowledge of art and literature as well as music has kept his literacy work alive. Huneker's entire work is reprinted here unchanged, thoroughly edited in running footnotes by Herbert Weinstock to correct the exuberant Huneker's inaccuracies and to add information that modern musical scholarship has unearthed. Weinstock has also provided an engrossing introductory essay on Huneker, and has amplified the bibliography to include modern books and articles on Chopin. Jacques Douai est un chanteur français. De son vrai nom Gaston Tanchon, il est né le 20 décembre 1920 à Douai (d?où il tirera son nom de scène). Il est mort le 7 août 2004 à Paris. Il était surnommé « le troubadour des temps modernes ».
Il a chanté Prévert, Aragon, Ferré, Trenet, Max Jacob, Georges Brassens, Jacques Brel... mais aussi des poètes du Moyen Âge comme Chrétien de Troyes, Rutebeuf ou François Villon. Il a été le premier interprète masculin de la chanson Les Feuilles mortes de Prévert et Kosma en 1947. Il a reçu le grand prix de l?Académie Charles-Cros à plusieurs reprises : 1955, 1962, 1968.

Quel harpiste n'a pas travaillé les célèbres études de Nicolas-Charles BOCHSA ? Pièces redoutablement difficiles pour certaines, tant sur le plan technique que sur celui du travail des pédales. Par sa pédagogie, Nicolas-Charles BOCHSA a su écrire pour la harpe des oeuvres destinées à tous niveaux. Michel FAUL n'est ni harpiste, ni même musicien professionnel. Nonobstant j'ai été captivée par son ouvrage dans lequel j'ai appris nombre de choses passionnantes. Je salue son travail de recherche, lequel m'a aussi fait découvrir un répertoire inédit à ce jour.
