String Orchestra and Piano SKU: BT.EMBZ13548 Leichte Trios aus vier Jahrhunderten. By Arpad Pejtsik. Educational Tool. Book Only. Composed 1993. 248 pages. Editio Musica Budapest #EMBZ13548. Published by Editio Musica Budapest (BT.EMBZ13548). At first sight, this publication appears to merely be a collection of pieces due to the lack of drier technical studies that are characteristic of tutors. Yet the selection of the works, their order according to the development of ensemble playing, and the advice towards technical realization included after the foreword - these all make this publication a tutor. The works form a cross-section of a longer period of the history of chamber music and offer an insight into the different methods of composition.Volume I contains easy chamber music from the Renaissance to Viennese Classicism for two violins and cello, in the first position. (In some works the 2nd violin part or others thecello part, respectively, can also be played on the viola.) The easier pieces can be played after two years of active instrumental study. $57.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

String Orchestra and Piano SKU: BT.EMBZ14253 By Lajos Vigh. By Arpad Pejtsik. EMB Music for Beginners. Educational Tool. Book Only. Composed 2000. 92 pages. Editio Musica Budapest #EMBZ14253. Published by Editio Musica Budapest (BT.EMBZ14253). Hungarian-English-German-French. The volume comprises works by classical and romantic masters for beginners. The chamber ensemble includes violin, viola, violoncello and piano, but if the viola is missing, its part can be played by a second violin from the version enclosed in the appendix. The string parts do not go beyond the first position. As opposed to the basso continuo part that children are less fond of, the piano assumes a soloistic role alternating with the strings. A certain part of the pieces can already be played after two years of serious studies. The colourful music containing dance movements and larger forms alike offers possibilities of common music making for string players andpianists. $31.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Piano, orchestra (Piano,2Fl,2Ob,2Clar,2bassoon,2Hn,2Trp,Timp,2V,Va,Vc,Db) - Level 4 SKU: BA.BA10420 Composed by Antonin Dvorak. Edited by Robbert van Steijn. This edition: urtext edition. Paperback. Barenreiter Urtext. Score. Opus 33. Duration 00:40:00. Baerenreiter Verlag #BA10420_00. Published by Baerenreiter Verlag (BA.BA10420). ISBN 9790260108387. 31 x 24.3 cm inches. Key: G minor. Preface: David R. Beveridge. Composed in 1876, Dvorákâ??s only piano concerto has been overshadowed by his other two concertos, for violin and violoncello, respectively. Performers and editors have often attempted to upgrade this pianistically unassuming work by adding stylisations of their own. Our Urtext edition revaluates the sources, frees the work from subsequent interventions and presents it to full advantage in its authentic form.
The principal source of our new edition is the first complete print issued by the publisher Hainauer in 1883, which has been meticulously collated with the autograph. The anonymous original piano reduction is so full of mistakes that editor Robbert van Steijn decided instead to present the version by Karel Å olc.

String Orchestra and Piano SKU: BT.EMBZ6338 Composed by Bela Bartok. Set ...(+)
String Orchestra and Piano SKU: BT.EMBZ6338 Composed by Bela Bartok. Set (Score & Parts). Composed 1970. 304 pages. Editio Musica Budapest #EMBZ6338. Published by Editio Musica Budapest (BT.EMBZ6338). Béla Bartók composed his Piano Quintet while at grammar school in Pozsony (Pressburg, now Bratislava), and it still shows the influence of Brahms in its melody and harmony. The work was always resoundingly successful at his youthful concerts. When on 7 January 1921 the Waldbauer Quartet wanted to repeat the programme of a concert given ten years previously, Bartók was displeased that this early work of his should be performed once again. Finally he consented to the performance, and played the piano part himself. The quintet was greeted with tumults of applause, unlike the other pieces on the programme, which were written later. According to a communication by Márta Ziegler,Bartók threw away the score in anger, and for many years it was believed to have been destroyed. In 1963, the editor Denijs Dille received a package inside which were the score and parts, which had been thought lost. Denijs Dille wrote: 'In preparing the text of this edition for practical purposes, I used the autograph score, and Bartók's own handwritten parts for the first and second violins, viola, and cello. [...] Bartók made so many deletions and significant changes in the score that the resulting version was somewhat different from the original. In this edition we give the last version, supplemented with the minor changes and signs that can be found in the string parts.'. $113.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Concerto: Piano: Piano and Orchestra G. Henle

Very few musicians are aware of the fact that Beethoven arranged his Violin concerto also as a Piano Concerto. It is only recently that some pianists have discovered this truly rewarding work.Clementi the London composer and publisher had heard about the première of the Violin concerto and probably sensed its potential. He asked Beethoven for a Piano version which was actually also published in 1808 at thesame time as the original. Several important cadenzas had been especially composed for it; the one for the first movement is accompanied by the Timpani a unique and original touch! Our edition (Piano reduction and study score)contains the text from the recently published volume in the Complete Edition of Beethoven’s Works.

Piano Concerto No. 2 for Piano and Orchestra (2009) by Poul Ruders.Commissioned by The Norwegian Radio Orchestra and Jerome Lowenthal. Solo Piano part: WH31129CProgramme Note In this day and age when faced with the challenge of writing a 'Piano Concerto' e.g. a piece for symphony orchestra and an all-dominating and virtuosic solo Piano part one has two options: either: DO or do NOT go for it wholesale exploiting and enjoying the conrnucopia of sonorous treasures offered by the combination of the orchestra and the 'Grand Piano'. I have opted to go for it. When writing forone of our great young international Piano stars it would be absurd and a waste to do anything less and only 'nibble at the goodies'.However the piece is not a big clunky 'machine'. Rather it is a transparently orchestrated neo-classic (for the lack of a better work) composition in three movements lastign approximately 25 minutes. The piece begins with a moderately paced opening in which the Piano gradually gathers momentum and strength beginning with the most gentle of motifs. In this movement the soloist and orchestra fo not always agree and the vigilant listener will observe the disparity between the two. Following a swift up-beat coda the movement stops almost in mid-breath on one of the gentle Piano chords taken from the very opening. The extreme simplicity of the second movement 'Semplice' (the opening Piano solo bears the marking: 'slightly hesitant - like a child practicing') is after having been joined by the Vibraphone Harp and solo Violin suddenly violated with unprecedented brutality by the rest of the orchestra which virtually 'lies in wait - panting to pounce'. But eventually calm and order is restored. The finale is a crazy rondo of sorts. The marking 'Avanti Risoluto' (Forward with Resolve) is a bit of an understatement. It is a full throttle no hold barred ride -

Piano: Study Piano and Orchestra [Sheet music] Boosey and Hawkes
The Mysteries of Light-Sub-titled 'The Mysteries of Light? the composer states ...(+)
The Mysteries of Light-Sub-titled 'The Mysteries of Light? the composer states that this work attempts to revive the ancient practice of writing music based on the structure of the Rosary. The most famous example of this is the collection of the Rosary (or Mystery) Sonatas for violin by Heinrich Biber written in the late 17th century. MacMillan?s concerto is based on a set of five meditations introduced by John Paul II in 2002 the Luminous Mysteries. In spite of this rather than being devotional the work proceeds in quasi-dramatic fashion not too distant in concept from a tone poem. Commissioned by Osmo Vänskä and the Minnesota Orchestra on the occasion of the Orchestra?s Centennial and firstperformed with soloist Jean-Yves Thibaudet in April 2011. Performance materials available on hire.

Bach?s Harpsichord concerti extremely popular among pianists are presumably reworkings of pieces originally written for the Violin. Bach however succeeded in transferring the diverse idiosyncrasies of Violin technique to the keyboard with such ingenuity that most of today?s pianists also include these concerti in their standard repertoire. The first concerto in d minor is perhaps the most popular not least because of its jaunty outer movements and the eminently forceful solo part. Now as a prelude to a series of all of Bach?s Harpsichord concerti G. Henle Publishers presents a Piano reduction and study edition (score) of the d-minorconcerto. None other than András Schiff the outstanding Bach expert has provided fingering suggestions.

Hawkes Pocket Scores HPS 1468-Originally a ballet score this 30' work is scored with strings and consists of three movements:'cumnock fair': A 12-minute fantasy based on dance melodies by the 18th-century Cumnock composer John French. The moods range widely from playful rustic archaic ungainly dreamy boisterous stately brutal and grotesque to mysterious and unnerving.'shambards'': Memories of Burnsian folksong are interrupted by new dance tunes built on fragments from the Mad Scene from Act 3 of Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor based on the novel by Walter Scott.'shamnation'. Low throbbing in the piano becomes a drumbeat to accompany a fast violin reel using three tunesand following a traditional 8-bar structure. The solo piano part emerges as a counterpoint to the Scottish themes after which the music winds its way through many different keys.
