This collection of four-part instrumental music originates from Het Leuvens dansboek (The Leuven Book of Dances) by Phalesius. This suite is intended for recorder quartet (SATB), but it will also work well in a version for recorder choir.
Petrus Phalesius, ook Pierre Phalèse, Peeter of Pieter Phalesius of Pieter van der Phaliezen was een muziekuitgever en componist in de zestiende eeuw, die werken van beroemde tijdgenoten als Orlando di Lasso uitgaf. De bewerking vanzijn Suite in G Minor uit de bundel Het Leuvens dansboek kan door een blokfluitkwartet of een blokfluitensemble worden uitgevoerd.
