Symphony in Bb major Hob. I:102-The twelve London Symphonies??? comprise the sublime final statement of Haydn???s symphonic ??uvre. They were written for the London impresario Johann Peter Salomon and Haydn himself conducted their premieres during his lengthy stays in the English metropolis in 1791/92 and 1794/95. The energetic surging B-flat-major Symphony no. 102 belongs to the group of the last three symphonies premiered in early 1795. Exceptionally Haydn here dispenses with the clarinets that are otherwise generally featured in his late symphonies. The instrumentation of the Adagio is also unusual in that Haydn includes trumpets and timpani both muted. This study edition adopts the musical text of theHaydn Complete Edition thereby guaranteeing the highest scholarly quality. An informative preface and a brief Critical Report make the handy score an ideal companion for all current and soon-to-be Haydn fans.

They were written for the London impresario Johann Peter Salomon and Haydn himself conducted their premieres during his lengthy stays in the English metropolis in 1791/92 and 1794/95. The E-flat-major Symphony no. 103 was composed in 1795 as the penultimate of the London Symphonies. It owes its epithet to its unique beginning: a solo drumroll in the timpani ushers in the slow introduction. This opening bar marked with Haydn???s heading Intrada??? and a pause even inspires many a performer to venture a short timpani improvisation. Urtext edition-This four-movement work with a slow introduction is Haydn?s last symphony for ?Small? Orchestra i.e. without Trumpets and Timpani. However it has long passages for solo Violoncello and is also scored for two Bassoons. Par HAYDN JOSEPH. Only eleven of the over one hundred symphonies by Joseph Haydn...(+)
Par HAYDN JOSEPH. Only eleven of the over one hundred symphonies by Joseph Haydn are composed in a minor key. Written in the early 1770s, the Symphony Hob.I:52 in C minor bears some similarities to the slightly earlier Symphony in E minor Hob.I:44 (?Mourning?, BA 10988), not only because they both are composed in a minor key but also because they both feature a pair of horns tuned at different pitches. Haydn seems to have experimented with differently tuned horns inspired by an article in Johann Adam Hiller?s journal ?Musikalische Nachrichten und Anmerkungen? of July 1770, which suggested to tune the horns a minor third apart in order to expand the total horn range. While Haydn followed this recommendation just like that in the E-minor symphony, he chose to have the horns tuned a major sixth apart (high C and E-flat) in the outer movements of the C-minor symphony Hob. I:52, resulting in an unusual horn sound within the orchestral texture. In continuation of the collaboration between Bärenreiter and G. Haydn's Symphony Hob. I:89 belongs to a group of symphonies composed between the ?Paris? symphonies (Hob. I:82-87) and their ?London? counterparts (Hob. I: 93-104) the last ones he wrote before his trips to England in 1791-92 and 1794-95.The Symphony in F major is dated 1787 in the autograph score. In this work Haydn borrowed two movements from an earlier piece possibly owing to deadline pressure. The second and fourth movements are arrangements of movements 2 and 3 from his Concerto in F major Hob. VIIh:5 for two ?lire organizzate? and orchestra. The fact that he also arranged movements from his other lire concertos suggests that heregarded them as a sort of musical quarry. This at least allowed him to recycle parts of these works after his patron had probably prohibited him from offering them commercially. This edition continues the collaboration with the Henle publishing company regarding Haydn's large-scale choral works operas and symphonies. It is based on the Henle Complete Edition of the Works of Joseph Haydn. The complete performance material for several Sturm und Drang symphonies and all of the London and Paris symphonies is now available from Bärenreiter.

Par HAYDN JOSEPH. Haydn Symphony No.69 in C major (Laudon) (Hob.I:69) (Full Score) Letters of the composer have come down to us only on a few of Haydn’s symphonies, amongst them the “Laudon” Symphony Hob. I:69. In one of these letters, Haydn agrees to the publisher’s suggestion to name the symphony after the widely known and favoured general Gideon Ernst von Laudon (1717-1790). By using this name, both composer and publisher hoped to increase the commercial success of the work which possibly deserved a military eponym considering its instrumentation with timpani and trumpets. Also, the symphony requires two bassoons, but no flutes, corresponding with the available musicians at the court of Esterházy between 1775 and 1776. London No. 7-The Symphony No. 104 in D Major is Joseph Haydn's final symphony and is known as the London symphony. It was composed and premiered by the composer in London in 1795 and consists of four movements: Adagio Allegro Andante Menuetto Allegro Trio Finale Spiritoso. It is the best-known of Haydn’s works and epitomises the classical style and structure of the symphonic form. Joseph Haydn (1732-1809) was an Austrian composer who became the figurehead of the classical movement. He formed a close and mutually respectful relationship with Mozart and later taught Beethoven but it was his compositions that left an indelible markon the musical landscape of Western Europe.

Hob.I: Orchestra: Part Orchestra
This edition clarifies a performance aspect of Haydn?s Symphony in G major that ...(+)
This edition clarifies a performance aspect of Haydn?s Symphony in G major that has long been misunderstood: in m. 1 of the second movement (Largo) the viola violoncello and several wind instrument parts are marked ?solo? indicating that they play important motifs or themes and ought to stand out.Contrary to other editions the ?solo? marking in the violoncello should not be construed as indicating a solo instrument with the remaining cellos doubling the basses. Rather the cellos should play as a section so as to stand out all the more clearly.Continuing the collaboration between Bärenreiter and the Henle publishing company in large-scalechoral works operas and symphonies this edition is based on the Henle Complete Edition of the ?Works of Joseph Haydn? . The complete performance material for several ?Sturm und Drang? symphonies and all of the London and Paris symphonies is now available from Bärenreiter.Based on the Henle Complete Edition of the ?Works of Joseph Haydn?Orchestral parts in a large format (25.5 cm x 32.5 cm)Full score & performance material available for sale (BA10980)
