Cradle Hymn, a Christmas lullaby with imagery of Mary and her infant, was written for the Nidaros Cathedral Girl's Choir and conductor Anita Brevik in 2010, and later arranged for SATB and TTBB chorus. The Lyrics were written by Isaac Watts (1674-1748). This arrangement was written by Christian Aftreth Eriksen in 2021, commissioned by Bunberry High School, Australia. It is scored for large concert band, but is playable for smaller forces through clever cross cuing: Eb clarinet, Contrabass Clarinet, Baritone Saxophone, Contrabassson and Double Bass can all be considered ad lib. All Oboes, Bass Clarinet, Bassoons and all Horns are cross cued. A Soprano Saxophone part is provided to cover the Oboe solos, and should only be used if no Oboes are available. Despite its close connection with traditional Eastern European folk music Klezmer music has succeeded in preserving its distinctive Jewish character. â??Klezmer Discoveryâ?? is a voyage of discovery through the richly varied music of the Jewish people from Eastern Europe.The introduction consists of anumber of motives from different traditional melodies (a Mitzve Tenzel and Lâ??cha Dodi) followed by a melody in 3/8th time (Kandelâ??s Hora). This dance melody originally came from Bessarabia (present-day Moldavia) and was taken along to America by Jewish musicians round 1900. Subsequently â??Der Terk in Amerikaâ?? a composition by famous clarinet player Naftule Brandwein can be heard. Par DVORAK ANTONIN. This arrangement was written for Norwegian School Band Madlamark Skolekorps to their participation at the Norwegian Championships 2023. The arrangement will work excellent also for a wind ensemble (one player to each part), but the clarinet parts should always be doubled. Euphonium II is optional, but it’s recommended to use also this when there are two players or more on this instrument. Concerning percussion, timpani is the most important part, but it’s recommended to also cover cymbals and mallet percussion. The articulation and dynamics are kept as close as possible to the original version by Dvorak. However, some changes has been made to make it more suitable for a wind instrumentation. The timpani part is identical to the original version except for some places when the trumpet signals are doubled in the timpani part. Staccato notation should not be played short here, but rather separated. At faster passages, the music should be played endurant or legato if possible. This march was written for the Durham MS Band in Lewisville, TX, an enthusiastic group of young musicians, growing in their technique and musicality and eager to sound like the big kids. Pride of the Maroon Dragons features a variety of articulations for the trumpets and upper woodwinds in the first strain, and a bold melody for the low brass and low woodwinds in the second. The trio features a smooth, legato melody in the clarinets and horns, followed by a melodic refrain in which every section has something important to say. La musique folk irlandaise est ? la base de cette nouvelle ?uvre.Dans la premi?re partie le th?me principal est pr?sent? comme une ballade commen?ant avec le piccolo (pour remplacer la fl?te ? bec soprano que l?on retrouve souvent en Irlande) passant ? tous les bois puis ? l?ensemble de l?orchestre.On passe ensuite ? un style plus rock : un accompagnement soutenu et rythm? avec des effets dans les sourdines un point d?orgue et l?utilisation des cuillers du bongo aigu (remplace le bodhran) etc. si caract?ristiques de la musique irlandaise (pub irlandais).Dans cette deuxi?me partie j?ai ins?r? en contrepartie un deuxi?me th?me jou? par les divers groupesd?instruments. Ce th?me a clairement un caract?re plus legato et est par cons?quent plus m?lodieux.Le climax de l??uvre commence dans les cuivres graves avec leur th?me marcato ?labor? avec une grande rythmique dans l?accompagnement les clusters etc. et va vers un solo de percussions avec des orchestrations en 5/8 avec de nombreux mouvements parall?les dans les accords (style de la musique folk).Vers la fin le deuxi?me th?me revient ? deux reprises : une fois comme il a d?j? ?t? entendu avec plus de contre-m?lodie et de mod?le d?accompagnement ensuite sous une forme canonique dans laquelle trois groupes jouent le th?me dans un m?lange harmonieux. La fin est une r?p?tition de la partie centrale en 5/8.J?ai essay? d?exploiter bon nombre des couleurs d?un orchestre philharmonique en faisant jouer les cuivres et les bois seuls et en utilisant de nombreuses sourdines. De plus les percussions jouent un r?le de premier plan dans l?ensemble de l??uvre.

Jéricho met en musique la célèbre histoire du livre de Josué qui décrit la prise de la ville de Jéricho par les Israélites.La première partie dépeint l?inexorable traversée du désert à destination de la terre promise la terre de Canaan. Une cantilène entraînante célèbre le mal du pays l?envie de mettre fin à une existence faite d?errance.La prise de Jéricho constitue le thème de la deuxième partie. La tâche s?avère difficile ; six jours durant une impressionnante armée commandée par Jéhovah encercle la ville. Le septième jour l?armée fait sept fois le tour de la ville. Les pr?tres soufflent dans leurs trompettes et le peuple crie à tel point que les murs de Jérichofinissent par s?effondrer. Les Juifs en profitent pour prendre la ville d?assaut et en chasser tous les habitants. D?un point de vue musical on reconnaît clairement les bruits de bottes d?une armée marchant au pas et les murs s?effondrer dans un fracas assourdissant et ce bien que l?histoire ne soit pas retracée littéralement.Une mélodie à la fois majestueuse et grandiose traduit le sentiment de victoire ressenti à la suite de la prise de la ville fortifiée (troisième partie).Une oeuvre romancée qui débouche finalement sur une f?te populaire juive (quatrième partie) o? les mélodies virtuoses des bois et les rythmes entraînants renvoient à la musique traditionnelle juive. Tous les thèmes reviennent sous différentes formes dans cette dernière partie souvent m?me tous ensemble dans un contrepoint de contrastes. Au final le thème principal de la première partie revient par bribes en majeur : le calme est retrouvé.
