To facilitate choosing individual pieces for performance and auditions at music schools competitions or examinations these pieces have been ordered according to level of musical and technical difficulty:Volume 1 (ED 22925) contains very easy to easy pieces with a range of notes up to two octaves. These generally song-like and intuitively straightforward melodies require simple breathing techniques. Phrasing is supported throughout by clear and straightforward pianoaccompaniments.

With an extended range of notes and dynamic shading intonation becomes increasingly important. Rhythms include dotted notes syncopations and the introduction of simple ornaments which also call forcorresponding precision.

15 Easy to Intermediate pieces from 18th-century Ireland-The latest addition to the fast-growing 'Baroque Around the World' series is an Irish album consisting of fifteen haunting melodies by the legendary 18th-century Irish harpist Turlough O'Carolan. The selection of easy to intermediate standard has been made by Patrick Steinbach; the pieces range in style from the Corelli-influenced 'Carolan's Concerto' through the rumbustious 'Carolan's quarrel with the landlady' to the composer's moving final air 'Carolan's dream'. Arrangements for flute (violin oboe) and keyboard with optional cello or bassoon are by Jeremy Barlow who has edited three other volumes in 'Baroque Around the World' of English French and Swedishmusic.

The volume 'Klassik für Kinder' provides young flute players with a selection of 26 easy works for lessons and concerts. The selected pieces range from the Baroque era via the Classical period to the Romantic era. Apart from original pieces, the editors have deliberately included easy arrangements of well-known masterpieces as well in order to facilitate access to the classical concert literature.The pitch range found in the pieces (not higher than E6) can be easily mastered by pupils from the second year of tuition.
