Set incluides 2 scores. York Concertato (2014) is a work for two organs and was written for Murray and Hazel Somerville (residents of York, South Carolina). The work is a chamber sonata for two organs in three movements (Exordium, Cantilena, and Fantasia), and is very intentionally conceived as chamber music, as opposed to many duo organ works requiring large instruments. This work may be played on almost any two organs. However, it is generally assumed that Organ I is a single manual instrument with no pedals (continuo/box organ) whereas Organ II is a slightly larger instrument with at least a pedal board. However, Organ II need not necessarily have more than one manual, nor need it have any 16' voices in the pedal. Performances on two larger organs is very possible, but the goal should always be an expressive, chamber music atmosphere with balanced discourse between the two instruments. This is really a work conceived for chamber organs, rather than for large symphonic instruments. Thus the players should also ideally be near each other. Instrumentation: 2 Organs Duration: 12' Composed: 2014 Published by: Zimbel Press.

Two Folk Songs (2011) are settings of traditional American folk songs, primarily associated with Appalachia. In keeping with the nature of the source material (and how it is performed in folk contexts), the settings are very straightforward. Every Night, When the Sun Goes Down is song with lyrics that focus on the transcendent peace that comes from faith, overcoming sorrow and death. Sourwood Mountain is a jubilant song with a nonsense refrain (hey-ho diddle-um day). The organ setting evokes the spirit of the banjo. As often happens in a traditional folk band, the melody is elaborated in a more virtuosic fashion on each repetition. Instrumentation: Organ Duration: 6' Composed: 2011 Published by: Zimbel Press.

Missa in incerto tempore (The Davison Mass) (2018) was commissioned by the Harvard Glee Club. It was premiered by the Harvard Glee Club, Cambridge, Massachusetts (Andrew Clark, Director of Choral Activities) and the All Saints' Choir of Men and Boys (Ashmont Boy Choir), Dorchester, Massachusetts; (Andrew Sheranian, Organist and Master of Choristers). The Latin title, meaning Mass in uncertain times, refers to the centuries of comfort, inspiration, and spiritual enrichment that the mass (and the musical settings for its celebration) has provided to many individuals through difficulty and uncertainty. I cannot deny that the times in which this piece was composed are the most nationally and internationally uncertain of my own life to date. That fact had a definite impact on the tone and emotional character of the piece. However, there is a universality as well, since one could readily feel that all times have a sense of uncertainty, especially since we never know exactly what the future holds. The first three movements have somewhat enigmatic endings. The end of the Agnus Dei tries to temper (but not erase) that uncertainty with a degree of optimism and fervor in a passionate plea of Dona nobis pacem. Instrumentation: SATB Chorus, Men's Chorus, and Two Organs (Opt. One Organ) Duration: 20' Composed: 2018 Published by: Zimbel Press.

Keyboard Duration: 5' Composed: 2014 Published by: Zimbel Press The formal inspiration for this piece came from early Italian keyboard toccatas (those of Frescobaldi are probably the most famous today, though there are certainly many others). However, the early influences do not come exclusively from a single source. The toccatas of Hassler, the ricercari of Steigleder, the fantasias of Cornet and Kerckhoven, the fugues of Couperin, and anonymous late medieval keyboard music all are thrown into the mix, and blended with a contemporary use of mixed modality. This piece may be played on any keyboard instrument (organ, piano, harmonium/reed organ, harpsichord, clavichord, or electronic keyboard).

Ab ovo for alto saxophone and two organists (one organ) was awarded the prize in the Polish National Composer’s Competition in Warsaw, Poland (1988). The work is a one movement composition written originally for a three manual organ. The musical language of the piece employs an alternation of quasi-baroque motifs and polyphony (organ part) with more avant-garde texture (cluster-like chords). The saxophone part is very free in its dramatic and lyrical expression, and is full of different techniques often influenced by associations with jazz (fast repetitions, glissandi, and aleatoric passages). The sales set contains a bound score for the organ and a single-leaf score for the saxophonist. 25 pages Published by: Zimbel Press.
