For Piano Trio.The Brook Sings Loud was commissioned by the Aberdeen Chamber Music Club for the Kungsbacka Trio.'As this was one of the first pieces that the Club commissioned I thought it would be appropriatefor the piece to have some sort of Scottish theme or influence. I have always been interested in Pibroch (Piobaireachd) - classical bagpipe music that was prevalent from the sixteenth to the eighteenth centuries in the ScottishHighlands. Par WUORINEN CHARLES. Charles Wuorinen\'s Second Piano Trio was found on his desk at the time of his passing in March 2020. A single, nine-minute movement, it is characterized by a complex, lively rhythmic interplay between the three instruments, in particular a wittily repeated figure of sixteenth-note quintuplets. Upon reviewing Wuorinen\'s third and final draft for this piece posthumously, three of Wuorinen\'s close musical confidant his student, composer Anthony Cornicello, who edited and engraved the work; his partner and manager, Howard Stokar; and his frequent collaborator, cellist Fred Sherry have decided unanimously that while Wuorinen would certainly have added small details to the score, what he has left behind is a complete and substantial piece. It is published for sale as a full piano score with violin and cello parts. Ernest Chausson's Piano Trio In G Minor Op. 3. Score and parts. Following his early elimination from the Paris Conservatoire's sought-after award for students of composition the “Prix deRome” Ernest Chausson withdrew to the country in summer 1881 and began composing this ambitious work – out of defiance so to speak. During his lifetime the trio remained an insider’s tip amongst thoseclose to his teacher César Franck. It was only after its posthumous publication that it was performed more frequently and was gradually recognized as being one of the best chamber music works of its time. ThePiano Trio In G Minor Op. 3 is closely based on Franck’s principle of the cyclic interleaving of all motives yet still has dark and melancholy inflections all of its own. The Henle Urtext edition is thefirst critical edition and is a welcome addition to their collection of French music.
