An inspiring selection of new works from a range of contemporary composers, the Novello New Choral Series offers pieces for all types of choirs, including sacred and secular works from simple, four-part settings to more expansive, yet accessible, repertoire in an exciting variety of styles. O Saving Victim was completed on 16th March, 2003, and was premiered by the choir of St Mary's Church, Goochland, VA, directed by Hope Armstrong Erb. The solo lines in this piece should blend with the rest of the chorus as much as possible. In large choirs, the solo lines in bars 21-22 and 26-30 may be sung by a pair or small group of people to preserve balance. This does not apply to the unaccompanied solos in bar 30-35. Zachary Wadsworth's 'vivid, vital, and prisimatic' music has established him as one of the leading composers of his generation, especially among those writing vocal, choral and operatic works. As winner of the 2011 King James Bible Composition Award, Wadsworth's anthem Out of the South Cometh the Whirlwind was performed by the choir of Westminster Abbey in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II. Other recent honours include awards from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, ASCAP, and the American Composers Forum, and performances by the Washington National Opera Chorus, Boston Metro Opera, Long Leaf Opera, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Atlanta Philharmonic Orchestra. Lauridsen's O Nata Lux is a serene a cappella motet celebrating the Redeemer and is part of the larger Lux Aeterna for Chorus Orchestra and Organ. The changes in meter accommodate the natural rhythm of the chant. This piece is from Faber's Choral Signature Series which introduces a wealth of new or recently written choral music to choirs in search of fresh repertoire. the series draws in a rich diversity of living composers and includes both lighter and more challenging contemporary works offering a thrilling array of varied styles.

This is the Vocal Score for British composer Harry Escott's O Viridissima Virga which explores a fresh take on the Christmas story by delving into women's poetry from the late 19th and early 20thcenturies arranged for SATB. The first performance of O Viridissima Virga took place on the 5th December 2010 at St. Bride's Church in London performed by the choir of St. Bride's.Lasting around 25 minutes the texts on which the composition is based are those written by females around the turn of the 20th century presenting an innovative and fascinating approach to the periods of Advent and Nativity witha constant undercurrent of foreboding that backgrounds even the most beautiful parts of the piece's melody. The poems are frames by two settings of hymns to the Virgin Mary written by a 12th century BenedictineAbbess.  Composer Harry Escott has studied at Oxford University and the Royal College of Music and is primarily known as a composer of film scores. He has written for criticallyacclaimed films such as Hard Candy Deep Water Shame and Welcome to the Punch. 

Vocal score for Russell Hepplewhite's O Magnum Mysterium for SATB choir unaccompanied.Russell Hepplewhite is becoming widely known for his operatic musical theatre and choral music. His ground-breaking operas commissioned by 'English Touring Opera' for young audiences have been widely performed and have won him much critical acclaim.

O Nata Lux by Ben Parry for SATB unaccompanied.A contemplative setting of the Latin hymn at Lauds for The Feast of Transfiguration Ben Parry's O Nata Lux features effective melodic and harmonic phrasing that creates a serene environment for reflection.

Gabriel Jackson's O Thou That Art The Light for SATB unaccompanied.This exquisite miniature sets an intimate prayer by St Augustine of Hippo asking for God's grace to know and serve Him. Simple and homophonic it is infused with Jackson's characteristic passion and luminosity and would be ideal as a general purpose introit or used specifically within a Service of Light.

Bob Chilcott's O Sing Unto The Lord for SATB and Organ. Chilcott's setting of Psalm 96 is bright optimistic and celebratory. The sparkling Organ part and fluctuation between 7/8 and 4/4 metres give the opening and closing sections a dance-like feel while the central section is still soft and reflective.

Tomas Luis de Victoria's O Magnum Mysterium is a beautiful piece for four-part (SATB) choir a cappella and has been edited by Alice Parker and Robert Shaw. A piano accompaniment part has been scored for rehearsal purposes.

Thea Musgrave's O Caro M'e Il Sonno was first published in Musical Times supplement December 1978. Arranged for SATB chorus the piece has a duration of approximately 2 minutes.

Martin Shaw's O Christ Who Holds The Open Gate is scored for SATB Choir with Organ Accompaniment. The work is perfect for a Harvest service or just for general use with words by John Masefield.
