Il est important de ne jamais oublier comment la politique et le racisme ont détruit la vie d'une jeune fille innocente. à une époque où dans certains milieux on nie l'existence des camps d'extermination on vénère les anciennes idoles et le racisme augmente à nouveau il ne peut jamais y avoir trop d'?uvres commémoratives. Anne Frank était une jeune fille comme les autres avec les inquiétudes les rêves et les souhaits de son âge. Une belle ?uvre à programmer lors de votre prochain concert.

Tomaso Albinoni (1671-1751) est né à Venise. Il est le fils aîné d?un riche marchand. Dès son plus jeune âge il développe un réel talent pour le chant et surtout pour le violon et se met rapidement à composer. Albinoni a vécu et travaillé toute sa vie durant à Venise mais a également séjourné à Florence et à Munich.Dans sa jeunesse Albinoni compose de la musique sacrée mais sans grand succès. En 1694 il attire l?attention du public vénitien lors de la représentation de son premier opéra Zenobia Regina de Palmireni (Zenobia reine de Palmireni). Ses premières œuvres de musique instrumentale datent de la même année. Par la suite Albinoni se consacre surtout à lacomposition d?œuvres vocales (opéras et cantates) et instrumentales (sonates et concertos).C?est en travaillant sur la biographie d?Albinoni au sortir de la Deuxième Guerre mondiale que le musicologue milanais Remo Giazotto découvre à la Bibliothèque Nationale de Dresde un manuscrit inédit sur lequel est basé le célèbre Adagio. Il semblerait que les six mesures de la mélodie et la ligne de basse retrouvées aient constitué un passage d?un mouvement lent d?une sonate à trois. Originally he seemed destined to follow in his father?s footsteps and thus sailed the oceans to countries as far apart as Iceland and Guinea. In 1476 his ship was sunk during a battle off the coast of Portugal. Columbus saved his own life by swimming to shore. In 1484 he conceived the idea of sailing to the Indies via a westward sea route but it was only in 1492 that he was able to realize this plan. On this first voyage he was in command of three ships: the flag-ship called the Santa Maria the Pinta and the Ni?a. From Spain Columbus sailed via the Canary Islands to the Bahamas whichhe sighted on October 12th 1492. Without being aware of it Columbus discovered the ?New World? ? he thought he had landed in the eastern part of Asia. The motif from Dvoøák?s 9th Symphony ?Aus der neuen Welt? forms a little counterfeit history at this point in the composition. After this first voyage Columbus was to undertake another three long voyages to America. These voyages were certainly not entirely devoid of misfortune. More than once he was faced with shipwreck mutiny and the destruction of settlements he had founded. After Columbus had left for Spain from Rio Belen in 1503 he beached his ships on the coast of Jamaica. Scottish Dances is based on three Scottish traditionals: Cock of the North The Bonnie Bank's O'Loch Lomond and Marie's Wedding. I. Cock of the North's name is used for multiple things or events. For example for a locomotive to a famous it seems delicious liqueur and rallies to snowboard competitions. Furthermore is 'Cock O' the North ' a nickname of a famous Duke. (The 4th Duke of Gordon). In this composition Cock of the North (a Jig) is a traditional Scottish bagpipe tune regularly played on tattoos by Pipe Bands. Not infrequently the drummers sing the text. Auntie Mary had a canary Up the leg of her trousers While she was sleeping Iwas peeping Up the leg of her trousers. II. ' The Bonnie Bank's O'Loch Lomond ' is about a sad story that took place during an revolt against the British. In 1745 Bonnie Prince Charlie had to retreat. Two of his men were captured. One was convicted and executed while the other was released. The spirit of the executed soldier would arrive in Scotland via the 'low road' (underworld) before his companion who had still a long way to go. You'll take the high road And I'll take the low road And I'll be in Scotland afore ye But me and my true love will never meet again On the Bonnie Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond III. In a Scottish wedding after the official ceremonies there is often danced. This is called a ceilidh. For this we use traditional Scottish music such as 'Marie's Wedding '. Mid dance we go back to the church where a lovely song in honor of the couple sounds. Marie's Wedding has been recorded by Van Morrison (among many others).
