Particulièrement charmants les deux scherzos D 593 furent probablement écrits dès 1817 et se situent ainsi au seuil de la phase où Schubert composa de nombreuses danses pour piano. Gracieux et dansant le premier scherzo est en si bémol majeur. Le second plus pathétique est en ré bémol majeur avec un trio central en la bémol majeur à la manière d?un ländler.
