The indispensable reference book on the complete works of Johann Sebastian BachThe first catalog of all Bach's works, the Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis (BWV), appeared in 1950 under the authorship of Wolfgang Schmieder. A revised edition of this internationally recognized reference work was published 40 years later, followed by a so-called small version with further updates in 1998.Now created in collaboration with the Bach-Archiv Leipzig is a completely redesigned edition of the BWV, taking account of the 21st century's altered knowledge and usage structures. Bach's cantata BWV 26 belongs to the Leipzig cycle of chorale cantatas, 1724/25, and it was first performed on 19 November 1724. The underlying 13-vers hymn by Michael Franck provided Bach and his unidentified librettist with an abundance of metaphors and comparisons which, from verse to verse and movement to movement, illustrate the fleeting and transitory nature of earthly life: an impressive musical-poetic exposition of potent baroque pictures of vanity.. Score and part available separately - see item CA.3102600.

Both parts 1 and 2 can be enjoyed at a beginner to intermediate level, about the level of Burgmuller. The book contains carefully selected pieces from the famous Classical pieces that are especially popular among children. Recommended for students using score notation for the first time, as it is easy to read. The arrangements are designed to be easy to play even for small hands, while respecting the image of the original. It is also useful for teaching students to listen to the overall balance of the piece. In addition, in songs where the melody appears in both parts 1 and 2, you can enjoy the creative ways of aligning the playing style and playing over each other. The book is not too long, yet it is arranged in a satisfying size, making it a useful book for review sessions and recitals.

The Hochzeitskantate (Wedding Cantata) BWV 195 was performed by Bach from around 1730 at various wedding celebrations in different forms, and was evidently also lent out for performances further afield. The only surviving version of the work dates from the last years of Bach's life. The opulently-scored first part begins and ends with grand choral movements, and Bach scored both parts for soloists and for chorus. At the centre of the cantata is an exceptionally sensitive bass aria, probably one of Bach's most modern vocal compositions of all. A chorale movement (Nun danket all and bringet Ehr/ Now thank we all and offer praise) with obbligato horns concludes the cantata as the second part after the consummation. Score and part available separately - see item CA.3119500.
