‘Mariachi’ refers to typical Mexican street bands as well a musical genre which has been recognized since 2011 on the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Mexicana is a tribute to this vivid music and was a commission from the French cultural association “Lille 3000” as part of the 2019 Eldorado thematic edition. This colourful piece is full of rhythm, drive and good vibes, perfect to get your audience moving!

De term ‘mariachi’ verwijst naar de typisch Mexicaanse straatmuzikanten en het bijbehorende muziekgenre, dat sinds 2011 door de UNESCO is opgenomen in de lijst van immaterieel cultureel erfgoed. Mexicana geschreven in opdracht van de Franse culturele organisatie “Lille 3000” als onderdeel van het thematische programma Eldorado in 2019 is een eerbetoon aan deze levendige muziek.
