Michel Cals (b. 1951) composed his Quatre Inventions for Percussion and Piano to be played in a competition at Paris Conservatoire. To this day Eugène Bozza (1905-1991) remains a prolific composer for wind instruments despite being a violinist himself. However his compositions for other instrumentations have not gone amiss Rhythmic for Timpani Percussion and Piano being no exception. During his studies at the Paris Conservatoire Bozza won prizes for Violin conducting and composition as well as the Grand Prix de Rome. He then conducted the orchestra of the Opéra-Comique and became Head of the Conservatoire in Valenciennes whilst remaining a prominent composer. Composed in 1948 Bozza's Rhythmic isso named due to its instrumentation. This percussive work is excitingly complex and a riveting addition to any performance. Containing much rhythmical variation Bozza's Rhythmic is a sublime addition to the Percussion repertoire.

French composer Patrice Sciortino (b. 1922) is a highly versatile musician. His compositional career has been met with success including with his Contre-Sujetfor Percussion and Piano. Courant – for Xylophone 5. Rigaudon – for Drums Solo Maurice Jarre (1924-2009) was a French composer who wrote much film music some concert pieces and some ballets. Among the most famouspieces he composed were for “Lawrence of Arabia” “Dead Poets Society” and “I Dreamed of Africa”.
