Chorus (with soloists) and orchestra (solo: S - choir: SATB - 0.2.0.0. - 0.0.0.0. - str - bc) SKU: BR.PB-5594 Urtext. Composed by Jan Dismas Zelenka. Edited by Matthias Hutzel and Thomas Kphlhaase. Arranged by Wolfgang (Cont.) Horn. Choir; stapled. Partitur-Bibliothek (Score Library). The Miserere in C minor ZWV 57 is one of the late works of the Bohemian composer Jan Dismas Zelenka, it was the only one to be reprised in Dresden's Hofkirche after his death. Baroque period. Full score. 64 pages. Duration 18'. Breitkopf and Haertel #PB 5594. Published by Breitkopf and Haertel (BR.PB-5594). ISBN 9790004214046. 10 x 12.5 inches. Very Expressive, Please! Jan Dismas Zelenka's musical setting of Psalm 50, Miserere mei Deus, was presumably intended for the 1738 Holy Week. Thus, the composition is situated chronologically between the Missa Sanctissimae Trinitatis (1736)* and the Missa votiva (1739), two compositions from the cycle of Zelenka's five late masses, considered the culmination of his sacred-music work. Strong contrasts are a conspicuous stylistic feature of the Miserere c-moll, which Zelenka moderates by embedding them within the entire work's cyclic arch form. The score and parts of this new edition are based on volume 108 of the series Das Erbe deutscher Musik, which was comprehensively revised by Wolfgang Horn in 2018, especially the preface and the critical report. Zelenka's artistic personality, his biography and his compositional style are utterly distinctive. His style is highly experimental. Was Zelenka really one of the greatest composers of the 18th century, or only one of the most interesting? I think that he still has several surprises for us. (Schweizerische Musikzeitung)Zelenka's Masses - fine specimens of Baroque choral literature, some parts of which are set even more colorfully than in the corresponding compositions by Bach. (Die Welt). $58.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 3 to 4 weeks | | |

Orchester-Bibliothek (Orchestral Library). Mass; Baroque. Part. 48 pages. Duration 50'. Breitkopf and Haertel #OB 5565-11. Published by Breitkopf and Haertel (BR.OB-5565-11). ISBN 9790004342695. 12.5 x 10 inches. Jan Dismas Zelenka's Missa Dei Filii is the second of three transmitted Missae ultimae, but consists, like other short masses of the 18th century, solely of a Kyrie and Gloria. Nevertheless, it is an extensive work, and the lengthy, multipartite Gloria is considered as the most impressive Gloria setting that Zelenka created in his over 20 masses. What remains to be answered is whether Zelenka had originally planned a complete mass composition. The full score and the piano vocal score are based on volume 100 of the Denkmaler edition Das Erbe deutscher Musik, in which the gaps in the musical text found in the autograph towards the end of the Gloria were cautiously supplemented. Zelenka's artistic personality, his biography and his compositional style are utterly distinctive. His style is highly experimental. Was Zelenka really one of the greatest composers of the 18th century, or only one of the most interesting? I think that he still has several surprises for us. Violin 1 (solos: SATB - choir: SATB - 2.2.0.0. - 0.0.0.0. - str - bc) SKU: BR.OB-5589-15 Urtext. Composed by Jan Dismas Zelenka. Edited by Thomas Kohlhase. Choir; stapled. Orchester-Bibliothek (Orchestral Library). Mass; Baroque. Part. 36 pages. Duration 60'. Breitkopf and Haertel #OB 5589-15. Published by Breitkopf and Haertel (BR.OB-5589-15). ISBN 9790004344194. 10 x 12.5 inches. Prelude to Mastery The Missa Sanctissimae Trinitatis was probably composed within a few weeks in the late fall of 1736, an occasion for the composition is not recorded. With this mass, the first in a series of five late masses, Jan Dismas Zelenka entered upon the phase of his masterful late works. Its spacious conception abundant in numbers, stylistic and compositional wealth, as well as its vehement, musical expressive power clearly differentiate this work from Zelenka's previous masses. This new edition is based on the corresponding volume of the series Das Erbe deutscher Musik, from which the preface and critical report also derive.Have a look into the piano vocal score. Zelenka: Miserere in C minor ZWV 57 Breitkopf Urtext ed. by M. Hutzel und Thomas Kohlhase The Miserere in C minor ZWV 57 is one of the late works of the Bohemian composer Jan Dismas Zelenka. According to an entry in the autograph score, it was completed on 12 March 1738 and thus chronologically takes its place between the Missa Sanctissimae Trinitatis (1736) and the Missa votiva (1739). It was the only late work by Zelenka to be reprised in Dresden’s Hofkirche after his death. Zelenka's artistic personality, his biography and his compositional style are utterly distinctive. His style is highly experimental. Was Zelenka really one of the greatest composers of the 18th century, or only one of the most interesting? I think that he still has several surprises for us. (Schweizerische Musikzeitung) Zelenka's Masses - fine specimens of Baroque choral literature, some parts of which are set even more colorfully than in the corresponding compositions by Bach.
