Johannes Traeg friend and publisher of Mozart quickly reacted at the beginning of the 19th century to the increasing demand on adapting Mozarts oeuvre for playing music at home. His adaptions of the duos for violin and viola KV 423-42

When looking recently for a Violin and Cello duet for two talented children to play at the Inverness Music Festival Lorna McDougall came up with the idea of arranging Paganini's Caprice No.24.

These flexible arrangements are designed to be enjoyed with the companion viola and cello books. Each book contains the melody and a harmony part along with a piano accompaniment. Suggested uses include: solo violin with pianoaccompaniment violin duets violin and cello duets trios with cello or with a string quartet. Judith Weir's Night is a work for Violin and Cello. Commissioned by Enterprise Music Scotland Night was written for High Heels and Horse Hair - comprised of Alice Rickards (Violin) andSonia Cromarty (Cello) who gave the first performance on 3rd November 2015 at Cottiers Theatre in Glasgow. Please note this item comes with two scores - one for the violinist and another for thecellist. Night was written for a late evening concert which aimed to use lighting design to explore aspects of life in the dark in three distinct but interrelated parts - NightMenagerie Night Anxiety and Late Night Radio.
