This ambitious work was inspired by the Les Cheneaux region in northern Michigan. Written in the form of a suite each movement describes a different element of this area steeped in colorful history and beauty. ?I. EarlyExploration? is a bold statement with stirring brass and powerful percussion writing. ?II. Onomonee? is reminiscent of the early native people to inhabit the region and features a solo Indian Flute (opt. recorderor flute) along with contemporary harmonies and rhythm patterns. ?III. Huron Nocturne? is a marvelously lyric movement which features the woodwinds. ?IV. New Beginnings? brings this impressive work to aclose with an energetic 6/8 pulse and spirited melodies. (8:15)

The Pageant of London is his only work for wind band, comprising of two marches, one scored from Bridge’s best known organ piece and including the chimes ofBig Ben, plus three short renaissance pastiche items, one arranged from Playford (later used by Peter Warlock in Capriol Suite). The music is tuneful, approachable and, in the words of wind band ‘legend’ Timothy Reynish makes a fine alternative toHolst’s two suites, which were composed around the same time. Reynish has introduced this work to concert bands right across the world. This work is a close-up of the encounters and relationships of trust between people, following the idea that 'friendship lasts forever.” After the passing of Satoshi Yagisawa’s close friend and work partner, Tsutomu Murata, a designer of Neo Create in August 2020, the composer began work on this piece. Murata performed music for audiences primarily as a leader and conductor of Kurume City Brass, a group which is active in Fukuoka Prefecture in Japan. Eternal Frienship depicts a five-minute chorale which explores “how music can convey that a close friend is indispensable to you, more broadly, everyone to someone,” much like how Murata conveyed the appeal of music to his audiences.
