Professor Sharon Gratto has built a career providing historical context to multicultural and folk music. (Field Butterfly)-The Field Butterfly is a humorous song about the alikeness of a field butterfly to a 1900 Filipino lady dressed in her glamorous formal dress with tall butterfly sleeves. She struts swaying her hips down the aisle of the church as everyone looks on. The Filipino choral arrangements that George Hernandez has written are some of the most popular in the Pavane catalog. The second in a set of four pieces by Edwin Fissinger (The Prairies P1299 released in 2006) this one is based on a poem by Jessamine Slaughter Burgum. One can almost smell the air of the northern plains through the poetry andmusic of this classic Fissinger selection published here for the first time.

Adapted from Harmoniemesse-From Haydn's Harmoniemesse comes this new arrangement of the Dona Nobis Pacem. Published with both Latin and English words this is an excellent piece for the concert or church.

Hodie. A familiar Christmas classic, this arrangement begins with a chant-like opening. The carol emerges in a strong statement from the treble voices. The TB voices soon add responsive punctuations, then the parts move into a canon. The writing is simple but solid, easily learned and sounds impressive. Great for high school.
