Husa, né à Prag, obtient une bourse pour étudier avec Arthur Honegger et Nadia Boulanger au Conservatoire de Paris et plus tard est devenu professeur de composition et de procéder à l'Université Cornell, New York. ' Mosaïques ' a pris naissance au cours d'une période quand la musique de Husa a été influencée par le néoclassicisme de Honegger et Stravinsky mais contenait également des éléments folkloriques que l'on trouve dans les oeuvres de Janácek et Bartók. / Orchestre

Mon Concerto pour orchestre (2007) est une oeuvre de vingt minutes dans laquelle les différentes sections de l'orchestre, ainsi que différents solos et duos du sein de l'orchestre, sont mis en évidence que la musique se déploie. Le travail continue mon intérêt pour les formes à deux mouvement qui a commencé avec mon Concerto pour violoncelle (1991), et plus tard a été développé dans Sortilège (1996) et la Symphonie (Broken Consort) (2004). Dans ces oeuvres, et dans le Concerto pour orchestre, chaque mouvement est le même poids et de l'importance avec le second développement de matériel plus tôt et prendre de nouvelles directions.La forme en deux mouvements du Concerto pour orchestre vient d'une structure symphonique sonate, remodeler la forme en quatre mouvements traditionnels et en combinant cela avec les aspects de la forme sonate, une tradition qui remonte à Liszt, Schoenberg et Sibelius:1er mouvement (i) l'exposition d'idées - dramatique et soudaine (ii) scherzo et développement 1 - résolue2ème mouvement (iii) adagio - calme et tranquille (iv) le développement 2 avec récapitulation - intense et énergiqueLe Concerto pour orchestre a été commandée par le Musikalische Akademie des Nationaltheatre-Orchesters Mannheim avec le soutien de Die Landesbank Baden-Württemberg pour ses deux premières représentations le 31 Mars et 1er Avril 2008 réalisée par Friedemann Layer. The work evokes the atmosphere of fiestas and collective rites: bright colours, the movements of bodies, the ritual consumption of alcohol, a sense of vertigo, the shrill flutes and the power of percussion instruments – this all contributes to a permanent saturation of the senses. For the Quechuas, whose music is characterised by pre-Hispanic elements, the composer is a shaman, wandering between the sphere of the supernatural and the human world. Music Of Our Time. Par SCHNEBEL DIETER. In this work Schnebel attempts to apply the idea of the Baroque canon - as exemplified in Bach’s ‘Art of Fugue’ - to modern concepts of tonal colouring. The ‘Motu proprio’ of the 7 mixed groups of orchestral instruments intensifies within 28 short emotional sections to the Baroque ‘Motu contrario’. In ‘Diapason’, literally translated ‘in the octave’ but in the ancient Greek music tradition taken to mean ‘through or across everything’ among other things, the orchestra is arranged into 13 groups according to families of instruments and tonal colour. They are waiting for the doctor to arrive and tend to his daughter who is lying ill in bed after having given birth: her new-born son has not yet made a single sound. The old man senses that something is wrong due to the uneasy atmosphere in the room. ?Who is sitting in our midst'? he asks. He is the only one who can see the presence of death. Intérieur: Once again a family is gathered round the table in the evening, but this time we observe the action from outside, looking through the window with the grandfather and a stranger: no sound can be heard. Outside the house, the stranger reports that the eldest daughter has drowned and that he has pulled her out of the river. Although the corpse is already being carried through the village to the family, the grandfather cannot bring himself to destroy this idyll. La Mort de Tintagiles: The young Tintagiles is told a story about a mysterious castle and the aged queen who has all potential heirs to the throne murdered. His siblings sense that Tintagiles has been summoned to the castle to be murdered, but nobody openly expresses this fact.
