Le film Djembéfola suit Mamady Keïta à l'occasion du voyage qu'il entreprend pour retourner vers son village natal en Guinée. Enfant prodige, ce très jeune joueur de djembé apparaît à l'âge de 7 ans dans le film Africa Dance aux côtés de Harry Bellafonte. A 14 ans, il est sélectionné pour rejoindre le Ballet National Djoliba. 26 années passées à l'étranger, n'ont pas permis que se distendent les liens qui maintenaient Mamady Kïta au plus près de sa culture. Dans ce village, il a connu des retrouvailles émouvantes et chaleureuses avec tous ses parents et amis. Le second film, Mögöbalu, les Maîtres du Tambour, est un documentaire qui nous fait découvrir, à travers la vie d'un Djembéfola dans notre monde moderne, la place et la virtuosité du djembé dans la musique d'aujourd'hui.
