And Orchestra B Minor Op.

Par DVORAK ANTONIN. This study score is based on the score and complete performance material of Dvorák's famous B minor Cello Concerto (BA 9045) edited by Jonathan Del Mar and published in 2011. In addition the study score contains a Foreword by Dvorák scholar Jan Smaczny.
Like every other major 19th-century cello concerto, Dvorák's concerto resulted from a collaboration between the composer and a virtuoso musician. Several passages in Dvorák's autograph were written by the cellist Hanus Wihan but Bärenreiter's edition now reveals that some details in the orchestral parts are also in his writing, showing just how closely the two musicians were working together.
The editor Jonathan Del Mar has conscientiously examined every available source, including two that have hitherto been either ignored or crucially undervalued. His research has led to a benchmark edition that reconstructs, for the first time since its initial publication in 1896, Dvorák's definitive version of the solo part. It differs from previous editions in practically every measure and hundreds of corrections have also been made to the orchestral parts.
- Includes Dvorák's final and definitive version of the solo cello part
- Incorporates new discoveries regarding the collaboration between Dvorák and Wihan
- With Feuermann's and Casals's alternative versions of a passage in the first movement
- Detailed Foreword (Eng/Cz/Ger)/ Répertoire / Violoncelle et Orchestre

Study Score.

Dvorák, AntonínMass in D major op. 86Organ version- The organ version includes violoncello and double bass parts edited for the first time- Foreword (Eng/Cz/Ger) and Critical Commentary (Eng) by the editorDvorák composed the “Mass in D major” in 1887 at the suggestion of his patron Josef Hlávka for the inauguration of the Lužany castle chapel. It is written for choir and organ with sporadic passages for soloists, uses simple expressive devices and makes light technical demands. Thus, this work is easy to perform, also by amateur church choirs; all that is needed is a small choir and the solo parts can be sung by members of the choir. The full score includes an additional violoncello/double bass part edited for the first time. Dvorák, Antonín Symphony no. 9 in E minor op. 95 New World - Groundbreaking Urtext edition taking new sources into consideration - Offers solutions for controversial musical questions - With an informative Foreword (Eng/Cz/Ger) and a detailed Critical Commentary (Eng) The ?New World? Symphony, a jewel of the symphonic repertoire, is finally available in a dependable scholarly-critical edition. Yet again Jonathan Del Mar has managed to untangle a complex network of surviving sources, some of which have never been taken into account before. Among them are several musical examples in Dvorák?s hand known to have been used in a lecture he held at Columbia University shortly after the première given by the New York Philharmonic under the baton of Anton Seidl. Del Mar thus sheds light, for example, on the frequently debated rhythm of the horn entrance in measure 4 of the opening movement and illuminates Dvorák?s vague instructions on the use of mutes in movement 2. / Partitions classique / Ensemble et orchestre / Conducteur / BARENREITER

Dvorák, Antonín Concerto for Violin and Orchestra A minor op. 53 Edition no. BA 10422-90 ISMN 9790260107687 Editor Cividini, Iacopo Dvorák's Violin Concerto was composed between 1879 and 1882, with the active assistance of Joseph Joachim, and was issued by the publisher Fritz Simrock, Berlin in 1883. Its premiere took place in October of that same year with Franti'ek Ondrícek as soloist. This new Urtext edition is based on the first edition (score, solo violin part, piano reduction and orchestral parts). It also takes Dvorák's autograph which served as a master copy for the engraving into consideration. A fresh assessment of Dvorák's manuscript made it possible to reconstruct several variants ignored in the first and subsequent editions and to clarify ambiguities in the notation and articulation. An important component of our Urtext edition is the original piano reduction, which probably stems from Dvorák himself, and in which Joseph Joachim's fingering is published. ' First Urtext edition of the original piano reduction ' Variants in the solo part rendered as ossia passages ' Foreword on the work's genesis (Ger/Cz/Eng) and detailed Critical Commentary (Eng) by the editor

Dvorák, Antonín Five Moravian Duets B 107 Arrangement for 4 Female Voices a cappella by the Composer - First scholarly-critical edition - The popular “Moravian Duets” in an arrangement by the composer - Ideal for professional as well as amateur singers (female choir) - With Foreword (Cz/Eng/Ger) and Critical Commentary (Eng) by the editor Dvorák composed the cycle “Moravian Duets” for two female voices with piano accompaniment at the request of the Prague wholesale merchant Jan Neff in 1876. This was a turning point in the career of the then still unknown composer: it marked the beginning of his lifelong collaboration with the Simrock publishing house and opened the way to international recognition. In March 1880, Dvorák arranged five songs from this cycle for four female voices a cappella. The occasion was a concert to support the construction of the Prague National Theatre, at which the composer conducted his own works. The “Five Moravian Duets” now appear for the first time in a scholarly-critical edition. The autograph serves as the main source; secondary sources consist of transcriptions by an unknown hand which include corrections by the composer. / Partitions classique / Vocale - chorale / Choeur et ensemble vocal / BARENREITER

Dvorák, Antonín Concerto for Piano and Orchestra G minor op. 33 B 63 - New Urtext edition of Dvorák's only piano concerto - Commentary on performance practice by Czech pianist Ivo Kahánek (Eng/Cz/Ger) - Piano reduction by Karel 'olc adapted to fit this new edition Edition no. BA 10420-90 ISMN 9790260108394 Composed in 1876, Dvorák's only piano concerto has been overshadowed by his other two concertos, for violin and violoncello, respectively. Performers and editors have often attempted to upgrade this pianistically unassuming work by adding stylisations of their own. Our Urtext edition revaluates the sources, frees the work from subsequent interventions and presents it to full advantage in its authentic form. The principal source of our new edition is the first complete print issued by the publisher Hainauer in 1883, which has been meticulously collated with the autograph. The anonymous original piano reduction is so full of mistakes that editor Robbert van Steijn decided instead to present the version by Karel 'olc.
