English, Greek, Latin. Text Source: Revised Order of Mass 2010, Lectionary for Mass
From a simple, joyful Gospel Acclamation based on the tune LAMBILLOTTE (Alleluia, Song of the Spirit) comes this full Mass setting where all the sung portions are based on that tune. While featuring a driving, rhythmic piano part, there is also an alternate accompaniment with more intentional melodic support that is suitable for organ. Optional instrumental parts are intended for trumpet and flute but may be played by any combination of C or B-flat treble instruments. With the joyful exuberance of the tune at its core, this Mass setting is especially well-suited to Easter and Ordinary Time.

F or this arrangement of Wiegenlied, Johan Brahms? famous melody was used as the starting point and combined with an alpine horn call. The intention here is not to undermine the original but to pay homage to Brahms? ability to write a ?hit? melody. The solo cantataJauchzet Gott in allen Landen, written around 1730 for the 15th Sunday after Trinity, is one of Bach's best-known cantatas. The scoring for solo soprano, trumpet, strings and continuo is unique amongst Bach's cantatas and has parallels with Italian composers of the period. The enduring popularity of the work is due to the clear and succinct formal structure and not least to the virtuoso trumpet part and soprano arias, in which the soloists can demonstrate their total mastery. The cantata is published in a vocal score based on theNew Bach Editionwith an idiomatic straightforward piano reduction by Martin Focke. - Famous work with a festive instrumental sound - Urtext based on theNew Bach Edition - Clear straightforward piano reduction

Johann Sebastian Bach's chorale cantataNow my soul exalts the Lord(BWV 10) was composed in 1724 for the Feast of Visitation (2 July). Its themes are based on the Marian hymn of praise (Magnificat) from the Gospel according to Luke.Bach gave the free combination of poetic paraphrase and Biblical text a varied musical setting ranging from the mighty opening chorus via two large arias to an intimate duet and richly pictorial recitatives. Despite the small instrumental forces ofad libitumtrumpet, two oboes, strings and basso continuo, Bach creates a majestic musical language appropriate to the Magnificat. This Urtext performing edition is based on theNew Bach Edition.* Bach cantata with a small instrumental ensemble* Based on the Urtext of theNew Bach Edition* Performance duration of 20-25 minutes

Also available for trumpet and piano (HL44005496) Manhattan was commissioned by the United States Army Band for their trumpet soloist Woodrow English, and first performed by them in Carnegie Hall, New York, in November 2003. Wanting to write a piece that demonstrated both the lyrical and technical abilities of this outstanding player, the composer decided on a two-movement work showcasing these qualities, and with the intention that the movements could be played individually when a shorter solo is required. The theme is a weekend in New York, and the opening bluesy movement (Saturday Serenade) describes the city on a Saturday night, perhaps in a smoke-filled jazz bar. While writing Sunday Scherzo, the composer pictured an early morning jog in Central Park. This vivaciously rhythmic movement ends with an even quicker coda which brings the work to a brilliant close.

Mendel ssohn's setting of Psalm 98 was written in a few weeks to satisfy a commission in his new position as general music director of Prussia and was premiered by the Berlin Cathedral Choir on 1 January 1844. As he neither released the work for publication nor produced a vocal score, his psalm setting did not appear in print until after his death. For this edition the authoritative Mendelssohn specialist John Michael Cooper drew primarily on the autograph score with its many subsequent corrections and amendments. In this way it differs from many other editions, which tend to treat the autograph as a subordinate source. Rounding off the edition are an informative Foreword and a detailed Critical Commentary. The piano reduction is based on the first printed edition, published by F. Kistner and Evers & Co. in 1851.

The original intent for this piece was to evoke a fantasy atmosphere of huge mythical constructs, such as stone edifices, rising from a lunar surface softly illuminated by reflected light from another galactic source. It is meant to give an impression of a single vision, allowing the listener or player to imagine a personal interpretation of their own. The story behind this particular title comes from the late 19th century. Before the widespread use of electric streetlights, many large American and European cities erected large structures - some as tall as 165 feet - intended to brighten the cities at night at times when there was insufficient natural moonlight. Referred to at that time as Moonlight Towers, the only ones still in existence and in use today are found in Austin, Texas. These man-made wonders may not be as stunning as naturally-formed stone edifices, but they are nevertheless eye-catching. One of these structures in a large park is adorned with strands of lights every December to resemble a gigantic Christmas tree which can be seen for miles. In this composition, measure 81 through measure 97 depicts four of the remaining thirteen towers in four different settings in Austin. This piece is also intended to capture the wonder of these singular relics of history, with a fantasy atmosphere of their own.The original intent for this piece was to evoke a fantasy atmosphere of huge mythical constructs, such as stone edifices, rising from a lunar surface softly illuminated by reflected light from another galactic source.
