For String Orchestra-Eros was given its world premiere in Moscow Russia in the Hall of Composers at the XXIX Annual Fall Moscow New Music Festival sponsored by the Union of Russian Composers. It was the first American work to be premiered at the Festival in over twodecades. In the following years Eros has been presented by the Union of Ukrainian Composers at their Kiev International New Music Festival and by other orchestras in Russia and Ukraine. This score is the first publication of the revised composition.The composer rewrote twenty-one seconds of music in the first movement ?Song? which is in this score. The work was dedicated to Krzysztof Penderecki and presented to him on the occasion of his 75th birthday. Parts available on rental from thepublisher.

Ashoob (Calligraphy No. 14) was written for Dariush Saghafi and the Carpe Diem String Quartet. Reza Valis ?Calligraphies? series isa set of an ongoing cycle of works based on the Persian modal system the ?Dastgâh ? which he has been composing since2000. The basic compositional material of the work is derived from a fast tempo genre called the ?Reng ? which is usually performed at the end of a traditional Persian music concert. Versions for Persian Santoor with string quartet (original) andfor string quartet only are available from the publisher. The original version was premiered on March 18-20 2016 at the McConnell Arts Center in Columbus Ohio by Dariush Saghafi Santoor and the Carpe Diem String Quartet.

Commissioned by the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra this concertino was originally conceived as a part of a complete educational concertprogram. Four concertini each featuring a different instrumental family within the chamber orchestra are played in succession to demonstrate the characteristic sounds of those instruments. The music is thematically related but not identical to the Concertino for Chamber Orchestra (parts available on rental from the publisher) which serves as the program's closer demonstrating all of theorchestral sections playing together. This program is suggested by the composer for orchestra concerts however each instrumental concertino can beperformed individually and stands quite effectively on its own as a short chamber recital piece.

Violin and Piano-Einstein was a violinist all his life. In the motion picture Einstein's Light filmmaker Nickolas Barris and composer Bruce Adolphe set out to communicate Einstein's dedication to the Violin and his particular love for the music of Mozart and Bach. This collection of music composed for the soundtrack is based on phrases from those two great masters that spin off into physics-inspired dreams and thoughts. It contains a poignant solo Violin piece based on music by Bach and four pieces for Violin and Piano that are based on phrases from Mozart's music. The composer includes one work in particular the Mozart Violin Sonata No. 34 notable because the only extant recording of Einsteinplaying the Violin contains the slow movement from this sonata. The soundtrack to Einstein's Light was recorded by Joshua Bell and Marija Stroke on Sony Classical Records. This edition contains bowings and fingerings by Joshua Bell. Movement Titles: 1. for Oboe and String Quartet-Frederick Fox (1931-2011) acquired both his master's degree in music (1957) and doctoral degree in music composition (1959) from Indiana University then began an odyssey that carried him to various teaching and foundation posts around the United States. Fox notes that his music continued to break down the diatonic structure to make it more chromatic but that he doesn't consider tonality when composing. Upon the Reedy Stream is a perfect example of his style incorporating chromatic lines and other non-diatonic tonal languages.

Wind Ensemble Full Score-Five Elizabethan Dances is drawn from the music that sets the scene and provides the accompaniment for the Ballroom Scene from Don Freund's Romeo and Juliet: A Shakespearean Music Drama for singing actors and piano. The style ofthe dances is freely drawn from dances found in the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book (music from ca. 1562 to 1612) spiced up with changing meters and chromatic twists of melody and harmony reflecting a more recent musical language. Eachof the dances represents a pivotal scene-within-a-scene.

Critical Edition Violin Solo Part-This new edition of the violin solo part to the Korngold Violin Concerto in D Major is the first-ever to include Jascha Heifetz's performance notations edited by Endre Granat one of his star proteges. Born in Austria Korngold was forced into US exile by the annexation of Austria by the Nazis. He vowed to give up composing anything other than film music until Hitler was defeated. With the end of World War II he retired from films to concentrate on music for the concert hall. The violin concerto was the first such work that Korngold wrote following some initial persuasion from violinist and fellow émigré Bronislaw Huberman. Korngold was hurt by the assumption that he hadsold his integrity to Hollywood. He was thus determined to prove himself with a work that combined vitality and superb craftsmanship. Korngold composed his Violin Concerto in D major Op.35 in 1945 dedicating it to Alma Mahler the widow of his childhood mentor Gustav Mahler. The work was premiered on February 15 1947 by Jascha Heifetz and the St. Louis Symphony under conductor Vladimir Golschmann. It received the most enthusiastic ovation in St. Louis concert history at the time. On March 30 1947 Heifetz played the concerto in Carnegie Hall with the New York Philharmonic conducted by Efrem Kurtz: the broadcast performance was recorded on transcription discs. Heifetz's performance launched the work into the standard repertoire and it quickly became Korngold's most popular piece. Concerning Heifetz's performance of the work the composer wrote In spite of the demand for virtuosity in the finale the work with its many melodic and lyric episodes was contemplated more for a Caruso than for a Paganini. It is needless to say how delighted I am to have my concerto performed by Caruso and Paganini in one person: Jascha Heifetz.
