Sie erfinden also ihre Bogen- und Saiten-Ubungen selbst, sind sozusagen von Anfang an auch Komponist, aber sehr behutsam, so dass am Ende des 1. Heftes gleichzeitig gegriffen und gestrichen wird. (3. The Serenade & Valse by the relatively unknown composer Marie Dare is an attractive addition to the repertoire in the first years of study (Level 2) and can be played entirely in first position. The Gavotte op. 112 by Sebastian Lee is a multi-faceted work for intermediate students (Level 3). Musically the Gavotte offers the possibility to present different characters. The piano part is intentionally simple and is limited to a supporting accompaniment.

Ferdinand Kuchler is regarded as one of the great violin teachers of the 20th century, not least because of his violin method.
