From his huge output these new editions present the six quartets for Flute Violin Viola da Gamba or Violoncello and Basso Continuo that he wrote in Paris in the 1730s.Published with the title Nouveaux Quatuors en Six Suites by Le Clerc in Paris in 1738 these six pieces are suites with various sequences of movements each introduced by aprelude.Here Telemann shows himself committed to the French style. The works are of special interest not only for their high quality but also because of the variable scoring of the third part for Viola da Gamba or Violoncello.Our edition consists of a full score with preface (German/English) and separate instrumental parts including a Keyboard with figured bass.

This is the Solo Part for Cello Concerto by Thomas Agerfeldt Olesen (2015). Written to Nicolas Altstaedt on commission from Århus Symfoniorkester and Die Duisburger Philharmoniker with support from The Danish Arts Foundation First perfomance in Århus Sept 24 2015.

This work was commissioned by Rudolf Steiner Foundation. It is dedicated to Anssi Karttunen who gave the first performance in Helsinki on 10th September 2000.Sept papillons was the first piece Saariaho wrote after her operaL'Amour de loin and it was partly written during the rehearsals of the opera in Salzburg. One can sense the desire to find a new world which has nothing to do with the opera neither in style nor in language. From the metaphors ofthe opera which all have an eternal quality - love yearning and death - she moved now to a metaphor of the ephemeral: butterfly. Also from the long time-spans of the opera she moved to these seven miniatures which each seem tobe studies on a different aspect of fragile and ephemeral movement that has no beginning nor end.

Prayer of the Heart was inspired by The Chain of Hope. This charitable organisation raises money for the treatment of heart disorders in children including Marfan’s Syndrome of which John Tavener is a sufferer. Thesinger should sit on a low stool bowing towards the heart. This facilitates the soul’s concentration and its unification in ecstasy. The Prayer of the Heart is prayed ceaselessly day and night awake or sleeping becauseit has become at one with the beating of the heart... Silence peace sweetness of union with God... The Prayer is not usually sounded with the voice at all it is silent. Therefore the music must be played and sungintensely quietly with no physical effort. The Byzantine bell and large Tibetan temple bowl may be played by the singer. Prayer of the Heart should be sung in subdued lighting perhaps by candlelight. The recording of theheartbeat should sound very tenderly and quietly throughout.

This edition contains the String Quartets op. 54/55 sometimes also known as the 'First TostQuartets'. Contrary to what the opus numbers might suggest it is a cohesive cycle of six works. Mozart's influence is felt more deeply the forms are more diverse and the first Violin is every now and then required to do realacrobatics. In this volume in particular several treasures can be found that are not often played.

The Ecstasies Above commissioned from the Robert Baker Commissioning Fund for Sacred Music by Yale Institute of Sacred Music was premièred by Yale Schola Cantorum under the direction of Simon Carrington on 4th March 2007 in Woolsey Hall Yale University. The minimum number of singers required is 16 (two each per chorus part together with the solo voices); however a larger number for the main chorus (16-32 voices for example) is more suitable. The string quartet and the two solo vocal quartets should be placed in front of the chorus. The vocal quartets should be spatially separated from each other. Depending on the venue and the size of the chorus the string quartetmay need to be amplified.
