Speakeasy In Space is a short piece that gives the impression of someone flying in to a small, quaint club in the middle of the vast expanse. From a soft and slow section that gives the impression of one entering the bar, to a fast section that gives a bustling nature of a very popular spot. Towards the end the bass guitar really gets a chance to shine.Drum kit include snare, bass, two floor toms, a low tom, a mid tom, a splash cymbal, a ride cymbal, a hi-hat, and a china cymbal. The drum part has the snare and bass flipped from there typical timings so please watch out for that. An easy blend of R&B and rock, this tune is insanely easy (hence the low price), using only 3 different notes! You can make it even more fun by adding easy choreography for the winds - start with bells down, slowly rise during the crescendo, then alternate bells left, then right for each repeated measure. This 54-second arrangement has an easy key and the well-marked rehearsal numbers reduce the amount of time needed in rehearsal.Parts are formatted to fit in a flip-folder, but print on letter-sized paper if you prefer to use 3-ring binders._______________________The highly-flexible BcP-Flex scoring imitates the classic rock band sound by using only 4 instruments/voices - lead, rhythm, bass, and drums:Lead: Flute, Clarinets, Alto Sax, Trumpets (note: for this piece, everyone except bass line has a unison lead/rhythm part)Rhythm: Trombone, Horn, TC Baritone, Tenor Sax (note: for this piece, everyone except bass line has a unison lead/rhythm part)Bass: Electric Bass, Tuba, Bari SaxDrums: This arrangement includes a written drum set part, but it is often easier to get the drummer to pick-up the tune by listening to the chart._______________________To see these other high-energy titles in this series, click www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=bcp-flex Barbara Ann (Beach Boys)Blitzkrieg Bop (Ramones)Blues Brothers Riff (I Can’t Turn You Loose - Otis Redding)Come & Get It (Selena Gomez)Grazing in the Grass (Hugh Masekela)Hey! Mike Strand, ASCAPThis is a lead sheet with lyrics, chords and guitar fret boards, for a jazz group, small, or large, with singer or solo instruments. It serves as a good basis for a variety of arrangements, contra facts, and improvisations. The audio sample is a jazz quintet: A slow swing jazz accompaniment from iReal Pro, combined with my duet tunes from Finale PrintMusic. In this sample, a flute takes the accompaniment (treble clef), with a baritone sax in the bass clef. The main tune (bass clef) is accompanied, making this an unusual duet lead sheet. For example, a flute may accompany a baritone singer. An option is to interchange the voice roles (e.g., main tune octave higher, accompaniment octave lower), or use one of the tunes of the duet by itself. I wrote this piece in honor of immigrants, in recognition of the courage it takes to move to a new country and learn a new language. New immigrants often go through difficulties and setbacks, including persecution from citizens of their adopted country. This, despite the recent immigrant ancestry of most of the persecutors, notably in the USA. In the subtitle of Immigrant Blues, I recognize my own immigrant ancestors, and also Anders Lundegård, who, like my paternal grandparents, moved to the USA from Sweden. Anders helped me with this piece, with his reviews and comments. **Here are the lyrics for Immigrant Blues: 1. Moving to the U. S., far away. Life here is so bad, I will not stay. Talked to Mom and Dad, they said OK. I want to make a place for them some day. 2. First time in the States was no picnic. Half the time no work, and I got sick. Some folks try to help, while others scoff. I have friends, but others put me off. 3. Looking bright and able, that’s my plan. Taking ESOL classes when I can. Learning English is no easy chore, And I want my folks here, that’s for sure. And I want my folks here, that’s for sure. Oh, yeah! Blues For Lester

Published by Roger Aldridge (A0.979625). Blues For Lester (for jazz soloist, 5 wind instruments, and rhythm section) is an extended piece with an eclectic blend of jazz, funk, contemporary classical, and blues. It is an expression of my admiration for Lester Young, the great tenor saxophonist, who had many quirky qualities in his music. This piece draws upon aspects of Lester Young's playing that I admire and have internalized: His horizontal approach to harmony, how he played around with time in his phrasing, used wrong notes (from a vertical chord perspective) at times, and had an audacious sense of humor. These are expressed in Blues For Lester in my own style. The score was originally conceived for woodwind quintet (with alto flute). Alternate parts are provided for an assortment of commonly-used wind instruments. In this way, the piece can be performed by various combinations of instruments. As another possibility, two (or more) musicians can be used on each wind instrument part. This option of having doubled parts -- with either same or different instruments on a part -- is an easy way for larger ensembles to perform this music. Students also develop some of the many skills involved in instrumental playing faster than other skills. The Mixed Abilities School Ensemble Series for Easy String Orchestra has the flexibility to allow pupils of different standards to play together in one ensemble (up to five parts). Each piece has a total of 5 different parts which are fully interchangeable between violins, violas and cellos (double basses can double the cello parts). So whether you have 15 violins and a viola, or 3 violins, or 4 cellos or whatever, the pieces will still work well together. All parts are provided for all instruments.Part 5 uses long notes on open strings. The other parts gradually increase in difficulty up to Part 1, which uses first and second positions. The teacher should select appropriate parts for the players in the group.I GOT THE BLUES is the second piece in this series, and uses typical Blues characteristics such as syncopation and swung quavers. It also includes a section in which any player can improvise; suggested notes to use in the solo are provided along with backing figures. Please listen to the mp3 file, which is an electronic example of the piece being played with 4 violin parts and a cello on Part 5.The purchaser of this product may print as many copies of the parts as required in order for the piece to work successfully with the ensemble. They must not copy, print or distribute the score or parts for others who have not purchased the product independently.Complete string catalogue arr. Keith Terrett #863787. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1271389). C Jam Blues is a jazz standard composed in 1942 by Duke Ellington and performed by countless other musicians, such as Dave Grusin, Django Reinhardt, Oscar Peterson, and Charles Mingus, arranged here for String Orchestra. As the title suggests, the piece follows a twelve-bar blues form in the key of C major. The tune is well known for being extremely easy to play, with the entire melody featuring only two notes: G and C.A performance typically features several improvised solos. The melody likely originated from the clarinetist Barney Bigard in 1941, but its origin is not perfectly clear. It was also known as Duke's Place, with lyrics added by Bill Katts, Bob Thiele and Ruth Roberts.Ellington's black and white film was produced in 1942. The video depicts a jam session where Ellington begins playing with a double bass before gradually being joined by other members of his band, among them drummer Sonny Greer and trumpeter Rex Stewart. The film title is Jam Session. Western Swing band leader Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys recorded the song sometime between 1945 and 1947 as part of the Tiffany Transcriptions. Bill Doggett recorded a version on his 1958 tribute album Salute to Duke Ellington (King). C Jam Blues was used by the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band as the basis of their song The Intro and the Outro. Mulgrew Miller and Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen included the song in their 1999 album The Duets. The Dave Brubeck Quartet performed this live at the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival; the recording appears in their album Newport 1958. YouTube Link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOlpcJhNyDI.
